Nobody else has got a look in this year due to the form of Griffiths. We needed a backup should he have got injured.
Ciftci didn’t get a look in and we shipped him out on loan. We’ve signed two guys on free contracts.
Hopefully, Ciftci and Cole will be out the door in the summer and we can focus on bringing in somebody with more quality and fitness.

From Celtic Wiki. It seem Maldini was at Celtic Park in 1969, but as assistant manager:
“Milan went on to win the European Cup at Wembley in May after beating Manchester United in the semi and Ajax in the final. Their assistant manager Cesare Maldini (father of the great Paolo Maldini) said afterwards that they knew they would win when they knocked out Celtic as they were the only team that they feared in the entire competition.”
I was there too sitting right in front of where Prati pounce on Billy’s? throw-in and romped away to score. I was there with complimentary ticket from Sir Robert Kelly, but that’s another story.

Piero Prati’s goal is indelibly imprinted in my mind. A throw in from Jim Craig to Big Billy from the right of our box and Billy taking a fresh air swipe. Prati was on it in a flash and buried the ball. The guy who ran the game was Hianni Rivera. He was simply outstanding and we couldn’t get near him. I can remember Karl- Heinz Schnellinger and Kurt Hamrin and their goalie Cudicini as I’ve said above. I had a spare ticket for the game and I was offered £20 for it, a fortune at that time for an 18 year old. I sold it for face value which I think was 18/-. I believe spare tickets were changing hands for £100.
