CELTIC v MOTHERWELL, THREE MATCHES IN A WEEK CONFIRMED

1

CELTIC and Motherwell will face each other three times in a week after the Fir Park side defeated Sevco Rangers in the second Betfred Cup semi final of the weekend.

Yesterday Celtic took care of Neil Lennon’s Hibs side in a relatively comfortable 4-2 win, although an honest mistake certainly made it more of a contest than it would otherwise have been.

Today Louis Moult struck twice to ensure that Pedro’s jacket is on a shaky nail at the Comedy Club after he lost his ‘win win’ match.

Celtic were supposed to play Motherwell yesterday in the league but this was postponed due to both sides reaching the semi-finals of the Betfred Cup. Holders Celtic won 4-0 at Dundee while Motherwell upset Aberdeen with an emphatic 3-0 home win in the quarter finals.

Now that both sides have been confirmed as finalists the three games in a week scenario that CQN flagged up a few weeks ago has come to pass.

The Betfred Cup Final will take place on Sunday 25th November before Celtic travel to Fir Park to play yesterday’s re-arranged SPFL match on Wednesday 29th November with a 7.45pm kick-off. Then Motherwell are the visitors to Paradise on Saturday 2nd December.

Hopefully they will be sick of the sight of us by that time.

Celtic recently played and defeated Dundee United three times in a week under Ronny Deila. There was a League Cup Final, a league match and a Scottish Cup tie and Celtic won them all. Same again Celtic, please.
