    Yip, he will imo.

I honestly can’t see Pedro admitting he got it wrong, win the league and he will get another crack.

It will cost a fair few bob to get rid of all the coaching and medical staff he has brought in, that for me will be the overriding factor in him staying.

  2. Imagine a Celtic supporter getting up in the morning just kinda hoping Celtic get beat because ‘you don’t rate’ the manager. Then having to pretend your content when they win?

The accusation that Celtic supporters are getting their views from the media is easily mad, hard to prove but easy to cast doubt on.

It is an accusation not worth making because it is double edged. One of our posters said (can’t remember who- sorry) that if you are going to accuse other Celts of getting their views from the MSM then how do you know that you are not just hanging on to your contrary view, just to avoid sharing the same view as the MSM.

There can be a commonality of judgement without there being an overlap of motivation. The laptop loyal might like to peddle the “Celts in Crisis” line because it undermines us but the Celts who share that view are certainly not trying to undermine us- they genuinely believe that we are playing badly and they want change because they think it will make it better. I may disagree with their perceptions, I may find some of their observations to be not rooted in reality but I do not doubt their motivation (except those who change their opinions by the hour, or those who appear only for match day commentary and add 67 or 88 to their FF posting names) :-)

That is why I would distance myself from that accusation. Of course, we are all influenced by MSM, just as we are with advertising, because these things would not exist if they had no influence but the influence of the MSM and advertising and even the genuinely held views of the Celtic support as a whole, influences us all, happy clapper and mineshafter alike. So, if your views are anti-RD or even reluctantly in favour of managerial change, I accept it as your genuinely held view and not one that has been brainlessly swallowed. It is a tiresome observation that is right up there with pro-RD supporters being accused of being cliques, board plants, or the cause of our demise- all of which and more have been directed at posters on the happy clapping side. Though I do feel the happy clappers are less inclined to include themselves in the taking of offence at points that were not directed towards them, but that is a BTW point.

Before there are accusations of hypocrisy, I will own up to having said last night that our support have bought in big time to the post-2012 league titles do not mean as much narrative and in doing so share the same ground as the Zombie fans’ view. That should not be read as stating that they share that view because they are zombies themselves, far from it. It may sadden me that it is so, but I do not believe that they share the same view because they think the same way.

The zombies think the post 2012 titles are meaningless because they are not there. Celtic fans, on the whole, tend to think so, because they think the titles have become easier to win (which chimes a bit with the zombie view but does not wholly overlap) but also, as Macjay and others have stated on here, feeling it is a widely held view, that European success is the only thing that matters.

I disagree but I recognise that the sentiment is different from- “it don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got Billy King” view from Ibrox.

I wish it were different but I think Celtic’s support will be re-energised next year by the appearance of a Zombie club in our midst. Many of those who have found it to be a bore, a chore and a disgrace to watch Celtic will flock back because we will have the O** F*** tension to motivate us.

And, before the backlash comes, that is not directed at those of you who have continued to attend, support and complain during the absence of any form of club from Ibrox. So don’t cross the road to take offence at an observation not directed at you.

re: your post to Auldheid …. about Efe …. perhaps the more salient question is how does Celtic contrive to make a 47 cap star play like a 2 or 3 /10 player when he plays for us?

    poor (asset) managment

re: your post @ 2:31 … and I assure you, I do not take offence at your posts ….. increasingly disagree, but never take offence … actually,I rather enjoy discussions with people such as yourself and auldheid and others with whom I do not always agree…

as for people wanting the zombies back ….

. we will never know for sure (it is one of things that is impossible to measure), but, based on my reading of CQN, I suspect that many of the happyclappers – who long for the halcyon days of the Lison Lions beating the huns .- will be happier than the mineshafters …. who want the game cleaned up (including cleaning up Celtic)…. and cleaning up the game, means no zombies.

Personally, I think the way to really re-energize the fans (both happy clappers and mineshafters) is play some entertaining, decent football …. qualify for and play well in Europe…. and people (even most of the happyclappers) wont care about the zombies….

with our financial advantage over every club in Scotland, and the size of our crowds/fan base …. there is no reason (except mismanagement – both on the park and in the boardroom) that we are as poor as we are at the moment.

    couple of thoughts….

I, too, would like to see Leicester win the EPL….good to shake things up a bit, and they are a fun team to watch …

Timbhoy3 …. re: your post @ 2:49 …. you are spot on. so many of us (including me) are focussed on him getting fired, or PL protecting him, that I hadn’teven thought about him walking away ….. but, now that you mention it, it makes the most sense …. he is catching a lot of flak, and doesn’t look like he is enjoying things ….

would not be surprised if he walks away if he gets a decent job offer …

the onlyfly in the ointment is that the SPL is seen by most Europeans as a joke, and little or no credit is given to managers for winning the SPL…. see NFL not getting any decent offers, even with a much better Euro record than RD….

the only thing working in RD’s favour is that he also did it at Stromsberg (spelling)….

Am watching the Hamburg game, quite like the German fitba, but like the EPL don’t care who wins and who doesn’t, watching Celtic is a totally different sport, I have no interest in the football just my team winning , as shallow as that sounds it is the truth

  10. GFTB,

It is clear to the vast majority of Celtic fans who can think for themselves that Ronny has to go. Once the fans give up on Ronny it’s finished for him , the players will be in the same space and it matters not a jot what Dermot/Lawwell think. Ronny will not be manager at the next CL campaign. The experiment has failed.

The Celtic fans I speak to in London or Glasgow want Ronny gone and most also see the damage of Lawwells poor execution of the strategy.

Ronny is history the question is who is the next manager of Celtic and how long will Lawwell stay ?

On the other hand everything in the garden is wonderful , the future is green and white and the Dundee Utd trios signing was a master stroke . Pass me the emerald green shades please.

  13. Re Ronny, I like the guy but I don’t rate him as a great Manager. I want Celtic to have a great Manager, therefore the natural assumption is I want Ronny replaced.

However what I really want is Ronny to become a great Manager, I accept that time is running out for him and even if we stumble on to a dour domestic double it may not be enough to save him. Without a doubt another poor European campaign will definitely spell the end.

I live in an increasingly diminishing hope that every next game will see the Hoops start a sparkling run of wins playing champagne football. Week by week my bubbles are being burst, yesterday was just OK for me, stopped the rot a bit and bought a bit of time for next day out.

Well played, Celtic. I enjoyed the way our players stuck at it and improved as the game progressed. The Kerrydale experience went well and I’d recommend all Celtic fans to give it a try.

Looking at the fixtures ahead, there are eight to play before the split but the club list only has seven dates confirmed. Has anyone worked out which game is missing or have I misread the page?

Taking the current top six to the split we’ll only have played Aberdeen twice away. I wonder if SPFL will make us play four of the final five games away from Celtic Park even though season book holders will anticipate three at home.

  17. Vital three points for Celtic yesterday after recent blips and maybe an unbeaten run of games are on the way. Watched Leicester for the first time today and was hugely impressed no reason why this team can’t win the title particularly with such a strong defence.

The problem with this is that no matter who we bring in they are one bad Euro run away (highly likely) from “failing” and we’ll be back to square one with a divided support. Though odds are who ever the replacement is the fans will be divided.

If the support can’t get behind Ronny then they’ll struggle to get behind any of his replacements.

dont watch a lot of the EPL anymore …. but the arsenal leicester game this morning was good to watch, and from what I have seen Spurs play some entertaining football, so I may put the fire on and watch the game …. it is minus 23 outside, so a bit cold to be going too far today.

Ronny bugs me at times, his rigid formation with one up does my head in, that formation is ok if the 3 behind are contributing goals wise, somebody put stats up this morning our 2nd top goal scorer is KC on 9, and KC has hardly kicked a ball under Ronny, but and my but is like last season Ronny is two decisions away from possible back to back trebles, as for the stubbornness for every negative about our manager I will make that my positive …..

Sack him when he is not delivering titles that’s my opinion, until then support him

  22. As frustrating as GMS can be I did think yesterday that he put in an honest shift and was a little unlucky at times but always looked to get involved.

SA his pal on the other hand seems to have lost interest even though he did well with the cross for the second goal his just does not look bothered never mind hungry.

Position he is being played? Maybe.

Young Christie must be worth a punt soon as well as Allan.

When will we experiment and give the new Bhoys a run out.

Really want to see why Roberts was signed as I look forward to seeing him.

Not an easy job for Ronny but if he wants to keep his job then maybe he has to make some decisions that players do not like and stick to his guns.

We are good enough and with Broony back hopefully will get over this sticky patch and come out looking like a team worthy of taking us into Europe with a degree of confidence.

Give players a chance and if they take it stick with them, we will see who wants to play for Celtic or the pay packet.

I do genuinely believe we are playing badly, yet we are ahead of the pack, I might expect too much who knows. I also genuinely believe that by changing may see us play better, I do accept though that there are no guarantees. I do not want to see any Celtic Manager or Celtic Team for that matter. However, I do genuinely believe that Ronny has had long enough to prove his way is the right way. As I posted earlier, I do not believe we have the quality of Player to play Ronny’s way. Either that or we have too many Players who have an off day at the same time. Yes, I cannot argue with the fact we have won more games than we have lost, stats are stats for all that! I also accept that we most probably win the League but at what cost.

On the inevitable arrival of a Team from Govan, I agree with you that it will see an return of those that believe the absence of a Team from there has contributed to the poor performances of CFC. Me personally, never want them back. In my opinion our poor performances cannot be laid at that door. However, I do believe the reasons are a combination of poor investment in the playing squad and poor tactics used. In my opinion the tactical decisions are questionable at times. We by and large deploy two up front when we are chasing a game.

On Europe, it is not our bread and butter but I feel we should do better with our resources and I do not mean go out and spend millions, out with our means. Clubs from other Countries who have similar or less resources than us seem to be able to reach the Group stages. In my opinion we have had a perfect opportunity in the last three years to do enough to win Leagues, which we have done and competively compete in Europe. Yes, we will never win the Big Cup again but with the right spirit, playing to our strengths and good tactical awareness we can in my opinion do and should do a lot better. As I have posted before we cannot live on 67, time to find our own Lions to make us proud and to walk down the street with our Chests puffed out.

I hope and Pray that Ronny does prove me wrong but I cannot see him doing so. I hope we do the double, I hope we do five and I live for the day we do ten. I am fortunate I can afford my ST and that I can get along to support the Team; this does include booing the Team. I do think we have been playing badly and yet the stats record that we are winning. I cannot argue with that but it is painful to watch. There will hopefully be the day when we win ten that someone will say to me that was some achievement, I will agree, I hope I can say that it was an exciting and enjoyable ride. I hope the next five and years are not as painful as the last year and a half.

I do recognise that it is not all Ronny’s fault, working with one hand tied behind his back. Barcelona play the Ronny system but the gulf in quality is there for all to see, that’s not Ronny’s fault.

SFTB, I didn’t take your post as dig, please do not take this post as one. It is just one humble Supporter’s feelings and one who wants to see his Team do better.

    Keep the Faith!

    Hail Hail!

    On another point

WITS, Brendan Rogers would be a replacement for me, prior to getting caught up in the Liverpool structure, which I believe Celtic replicate, he has had good playing teams, let him build his own here as well ?

    Latchford

Who do we replace Peter with ? Financially he us very stable, I agree to the detriment of the team mind :-), should start by drastically reducing our squad size by at least 10, no need to downsize from there

Drinkwater, who should have walked for his tackle on Ramsay, had the ball right at the corner flag in injury time and put a cross in instead of trying to keep it, draw a foul, get a corner. Incomprehensible in that situation but maybe the 3 examples between us indicate the lack of experience Leicester have at the business end of the season. Arsenal deserved winners today.

Brankrupt Craig Whyte is spotted out shopping in Belgravia, London

HE FAMOUSLY bought Rangers for just £1 – now Craig Whyte has been pictured looking like that’s about all he owns in the world.

Despite living in one of the most exclusive postcode areas of London, the bankrupt businessman was spotted out and about last week looking a bit, well trampy.

Struggling along the road on Wednesday, with plastic bags stuffed full of shopping, Whyte cut a sad and lonely figure compared his usual dapper self.

Sporting a straggly beard and designer stubble, with his greying hair scraped over to one side, he made a trip to a local upmarket supermarket Waitrose to do his shopping.

No one paid a second glance at the man wearing an open-necked shirt, blue loafers and navy blue overcoat as he negotiated the short distance between the shop and a luxury penthouse he disappeared inside.

He had earlier browsed the luxury store, meandering around the aisles while picking up his groceries.

Motherwell-born Whyte has been lying low after being charged by authorities in Scotland in connection with his ill-fated business dealings with Rangers.

His defence against the charges that he and two others fraudulently obtained over £28 million to fund his Ibrox takeover, is being paid for by the Scottish Legal Aid Board.

Former Rangers owner Craig Whyte with Charlotte Foley

But they could withdraw funding after it was revealed Whyte is living it up in a swanky multi-million pound Belgravia townhouse.

He has given the court officials a bail address in Lancashire – understood to be owned by the family of his current girlfriend.

Whyte is believed to have been staying with partner Charlotte Foley, 31, who is thought to have been dating him since 2013.

Charlotte has been seen at Whyte’s side constantly as he has made recent court appearances, and she is often pictured wearing glamorous outfits while supporting her man in public.

The pair have been living anonymously in the area, and can include the likes of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, Andrew Lloyd-Webber, and the Duchess of York as neighbours.

Similar properties in the UK capital sell for more than £5 million, with rental prices around a whopping £5,000 to £6,000-a-month.

And Grosvenor Square – just round the corner from Whyte’s flat – was recently dubbed the most expensive street in the UK, where homes cost an average of £16.9 million.

Whyte was declared bankrupt at the High Court in London in October last year with debts of almost £21 million.

Last week prosecutors dropped six of 15 charges in the fraud case surrounding Rangers.

The Crown withdrew claims that joint administrators, David Whitehouse and Paul Clark, tried to pervert the course of justice.

They also axed a charge that the pair, along with Whyte, Gary Withey and David Grier agreed to actions they may have known would enable serious organised crime.

A further allegation that Whyte, former Rangers chief executive Charles Green, 62, Whitehouse and Clark conspired in 2012 to buy the club for well below its market value, was also dropped.

Whitehouse, 50, and Clark, 51, were also removed from an amended charge, which now alleges Whyte, Withey and Grier, conspired ion 2010 to obtain a controlling stake in the Ibrox club.

All six men face further charges in relation to the case.

A spokesman for the Scottish Legal Aid Board said: “We will consider any new information about an individual’s financial circumstances provided to us after legal aid has been granted.

“We also carry out checks on whether there have been material changes in someone’s financial circumstances.

“Legal aid can be, and has been, withdrawn in cases where we find or receive information that shows someone’s financial circumstances mean they are not eligible for legal assistance.

“In assessing eligibility we consider the income and capital of the applicant.

“If an applicant has no income they must provide an explanation about how they are supported.

“If supported by family or friends they must advise us of this.”

Whyte is no stranger to luxury properties.
