CELTIC v SEVCO RANGERS HOGMANAY GAMES SCRAPPED

CELTIC will forever maintain a 100% Hogmanay record  against the Comedy Club  after the end of year fixture was scrapped by the SPFL.

So Celtic and Sevco Rangers will not meet each other again on December 31.

SPFL bosses have agreed not to make the champions and the Ibrox outfit play this Hogmanay.

They decided to move the controversial fixture after discussing the situation with business leaders who feared it would ruin their New Year trade.

Politicians were furious last year when the decision was made to play the game between the two best-supported teams in the country on December 31 in Govan with Celtic winning 2-1.

Police insisted it was entirely the SPFL’s decision to pick that date because it was better for their fixture list.

But the SPFL relented yesterday after a high-powered meeting and the December 31 date has been scrapped.
