‘CELTIC WON’T COPY SWEDEN,’ LUSTIG

MIKAEL LUSTIG insists Celtic will not simply defend against Paris Saint-Germain in France in the Champions League encounter on Wednesday.

The right-back was part of a blockade that shut out Italy in Sweden’s 1-0 World Cup play-off triumph in Milan last week.

The 30-year-old defender said: “It was the biggest game in my career, playing for my country, 90 minutes from a World Cup.

“Getting to the Finals meant everything. I’ve been close a couple of times and this was my last chance.

“As a kid and as a player, it’s what you dream about – so to get there is amazing.”

Asked if the Hoops would copy the stonewalling tactics, Lustig replied: “From the way we defended, absolutely – but we play such a different type of football with Celtic.

“We are not going to qualify from the Champions League group now and we have nothing to lose in some respects, although we do want to make the Europa League.

“We want to develop as a team and players and play good football, so it’s a different kind of game to the Sweden one.

“And it’s harder for us, definitely.

“The way we are playing we want to be part of something bigger. It is not just about now, it’s about next season and a couple of years down the line.

“It is harder when you are trying always to play good football.”
