COMMONS COMPLETES THE SET

KRIS COMMONS was delighted to add a League Cup medal to the three Premier League titles and two Scottish Cups he has won at Celtic.
Commons, scorer of the first goal, said: “What a super feeling! That’s one off the list with two still to go.
“We meet Dundee United again on Wednesday night in our Cup quarter-final replay and we’ll be looking forward to another victory to get us into the semi-final.
“This is a special moment for me as it’s the first time I’ve won a medal in this competition.
“I have to say I thought the chance had gone before I got the opener.
“Their keeper made a great save from my first shot to push the ball onto the post. When it rebounded it made the angle a little bit tighter, but I got a good connection on it and, thankfully, my shot found the net.
“Once that goal went in it settled our nerves and I think we then controlled and dictated the game.
“The team spirit here is brilliant. It’s been like that ever since I walked in the door. Players have come and gone, but we’ve always had that core.
“And we’ve got a captain like Scott Brown who is a natural leader and a natural winner.
“He is a big role model in our dressing room as far as team spirit goes and everyone who comes to this club immediately gets into that way of thinking.
“For me, it’s been magic since day one and it’s still thriving.”
