CELTIC’S 32-goal hitman Moussa Dembele will have to work on his fitness levels, according to France Under 21 boss Sylvain Rioli.
The 20-year-old striker was deemed fit enough by Brendan Rodgers to earn a place on the substitutes’ bench for the 2-1 Scottish Cup win over Aberdeen last month.
But Dembele didn’t feature in the Hoops first team since late April when he injured a hamstring in the Scottish Cup semi-final triumph over Sevco Rangers.
The £30million-rated frontman is now on international duty with the French squad, but coach Ripoli has revealed he’s still not fully fit as France prepare to face Cameroon this week following their 3-0 friendly victory in Albania.
He said: “Moussa has had a very big season. He’s been very successful.
“He is an attacker who poses a lot of problems to the defence by his presence, his flair and his ability to score and also be a focal point for the team.
“But he has had a lot of bother with injuries recently and we are not sure he can play for us.
“He has expressed a great desire to play, but we have to manage Moussa properly.
“Moussa has been training with us, while continuing his rehabilitation, which hasn’t yet finished.”
