  1. Took me half an hour to realise the clocks went forward here, was wondering what the delay in the game was.

    Happy Sunday all.

  2. The Battered Bunnet on

Many thanks to those who took the time to read my wee post, and for the kind comments made.

For those who asked, all of the figures noted in the piece are extracted from the Annual Reports published by Rangers from 1988 to date.

I trust it wasn’t too insane, insulting, illogical or confused :¬)

Great article, sent it to a few friends over here that have asked what happened to Ragers.

    Good stuff my good man.

  4. Battered Bunnet – the article was none of those things – it was/ is superb and deserves a wider audience than CQN – I hope you are pushing to get it one! I am sure others will.

This is the type of thing that the MSM if they genuinely want to survive need to start picking up and seeking authors permission to use.

    Brilliant stuff my man.

    Really gotta go now fholks

  5. TBB – Your post was fantastic. Much kudos to you mate.

By the way, I haven’t posted in here in ages, my apologies, but read the main blog every day still!

i don’t believe that an Atlantic league will ever happen

for me such a set-up would require at least 32 clubs to make up two divisions16 on of (how would that be decided). it would become arguable one of the best league in the world

a league that has celtic, ranger (maybe), ajax, PSV, anderlech, club brugg, rosenburgh, gothenburgh etc… chasing the championship would be massive, particularly with the added t.v money.

but thats why it will never happen because it would change the land scope of football forever and the big clubs from big nations don’t want it.

same reason celtic will never play in the EPL, its called fear!!!

think is can the big clubs from smaller nations continue to go down the road they are on right now?

  15. TBB,had to read the article a few times, and just about to print it for non pc friendly mate..Brilliant stuff..

  16. The Battered Bunnet

Outstanding. For the benefit of outsiders I would also clarify the sporting context. The main depredations of TFoD were in response to a resurgent Celtic under Martin O’Neill and Gordon Strachan’s three in a row. They just couldnt “bear” being second best.

Condolonces, never a good time to lose a friend.

  18. A very well-balanced line-up, with each player paired up well. Rogne and Mulgrew is, in my view, a far more effective central defence, not so much for conceding goals, but for the passing Mulgrew offers (CB is also his best position imo). Matthews and Forrest on the right is great, and Samaras on the left means James will spend most of his time on the right/cutting in, while the Greek and the Welshman down the left is our most devastating combination.

My only worry is, oddly enough, Stokes and Hooper, as I don’t think Stokes is right for Dundee Utd – hope I’m wrong, and his MOTM game v Aberdeen suggests I might well be.

Of the players, Wanyama had a superb game last time at Tannadice – expect him to put in another outstanding show. Sammi and Brown also very important today. Very surprised not to see Ki at least on the bench.

Stephbhoy ……. agree……it’s all about protecting the status quo, ensuring the TV pot isn’t diluted……one thing is for sure, they wouldn’t be invited
