Thought I’d sleep on our victory and performance last night before commenting.
We are (bad word)ing good eh?!
Professional, strong, invincible.
We tend to destroy teams back to front forcing them to chase the ball and slowly tire them into submission.
My only complaint is that sometimes we could tire teams out quicker by playing one touch football rather than the control and passing game being coached.
It’s not much of a complaint really because domestically our game is far superior to any opponent. But for CL we need to prepare using our domestic games as practice for a faster, one touch game as the time a player gets on the ball at that level is far less, where the option to control and pass allied with the vision is not always there as teams are on top of our defence far quicker.
Broonie, NTCHAMP, Forrest, Bitton, Lustig, KT and Sinky were our best performers last night with Broonie just stealing the MOM for me.
Leigh is a work horse. As a striker he does so much running, pulling defenders all over the place, opening up space for our midfield to attack. His contibution is priceless. Even when not always on score sheet. I don’t think this is always appreciated by us.
Our half year results tell us nothing apart from revenue received and that we managed to spend most of it. The detail is missing. Why do the club report to IFRSs requirements but are then able to exclude the detail required by IFRSs?

Am I wrong in thinking we haven’t been as dynamic and as overpoweringly forceful as we were on many occasions last season?
I know it’s early in the season and there is much to admire about performing well while not out of 3rd but I have concerns it’s become too easy for us. Can’t shake off the feeling that an attitude of ‘it will turn out alright’ is creeping in.
