Yeah, there was booing today. It was quick and petered out to the sound of mostly silence.
I don’t know anyone who goes to the games that thinks RD will be manager next season. There is a guy at my work who thinks he will be but he is the only ‘real’ person I speak to that believes. We all fully back the team when the 90mins start but that doesn’t stop us having doubts and thoughts.
There is too much rumour and uncertainty. It’s not doing anyone good.
The treatment he received up here, even with his Barcelona tactics lesson, damaged his CV. The only English gig he got was with a near bankrupt club struggling to maintain a toe hold in the Championship. As his club’s finances deteriorate around his ears and better paid players leave for pastures new, he struggles with a squad of 25 to compete with some cash rich ambitious clubs. He dragged them off the bottom last year and was talked about for other jobs but it did not happen. Now again, as of yesterday, he has dragged Bolton off the bottom spot and put them within 3 points of a safe spot. Neil is a combative and restless seeker of improvement and is well cut out for management in football. There may be question marks over other aspects of his life but Neil was fiercely loyal to us and one of the few MON men to show any loyalty to WGS. He deserved his shot with us and he over-achieved for us, despite that ICT re-arranged game disaster.
I wish Neil nothing but good luck for what he did for us. I do not, however, think that he would be doing himself any favours if he came back to our toxic environment.

RD is not the problem with Celtic’s on the park decline
The squad is not the problem
The tactics are not the problem
The coaching staff is not the problem
the goalkeeper is not the problem
the fans are not the problem
the GB is not the problem
The MIBS are not thee problem but they are a problem
The SFA is not the problem
Aberdeen and all the other clubs are not the problem
The SFA are a problem but not thee problem
The problem is the complicity of celtic’s board to the OF and the love of money.
At least Roy Keane served an apprenticeship in management and played for us. All Giggsy did for Celtic was to con a penalty. Are we all such EPL worshipers that we would accept Ryan Giggs as a manager?

Bolton also reduced their wages budget from £35m to £16m for this season. In an article in the current 4-4-2 the fans were very supportive of him,if not exactly wildly optimistic about their future.

Thanks for the answer,I have listened to many ex players whom have played at a good level in Scotland/ England leagues and in European/International competitions, and none can answer why we just do not produce the top players that we used to,if anyone can crack this they are going to be highly saught after for clubs.
Incidentally the EPL is also recruitng heavily from abroad and most of the top players are not English.

I think their is virtually no chance of Lenny coming back, certainly in the near future.
Do I think he could galvanise us for the run in and give us a better chance of retaining our title?
Yes, I know from an ex players view that Lennys influence in Strachans 3 title was huge.
pannysbhoy on
I was positive about Ronny’s appointment when it happened. I didn’t want the usual suspects with some success and a number of failures on their CVs. I would have got rid of h after the Legia games – was never going to happen.
However as the season progressed we improved and the signing of SA and GMS looked good. This season has seen a deterioration in the team. This may have been due to the loss of our central defenders.
However the failure to sign a striker worthy of being called a striker and signing too many midfielders of a similar type to what we already have has weakened us. I am also worried about his inability/unwillingness to change his system.
So I don’t think he is up to the job, but the problem is can we get a suitable replacement. I still don’t want the usual suspects. The criteria that was used Ronny was appointed is still relevant.
Before I leave tonight.,all the best to Ronnie Deilia, God bless Neil Lennon. I have no idea who the next or likely to be the next Celtic coach or manager.
All I k is is that they have my backing.

The players who make it at the top in any sport show a dedication UK kids rarely display in relation to football. I wonder how many Scottish footballers could match Andy Murray’s commitment level?
In my day job I am often in Prison discussing planning of health for prisoners – looking at demographics etc. Against previous projection the number of young people in prisons has dropped significantly. Lots of reasons for this but one that is gathering some serious consideration is the role of Xbox and play station. Simply put kids are not hanging about streets as much as they did previously because they can communicate easily from their bedrooms. Consequently they are committing less street crime. … Sadly this probably means less are kicking a ball.

That is a very interesting read if no direct relationship it appears at best highly coincidental.
I doubt the reason is unidimensional but who knows what cocktail of factors are involved?
I’m a great believer that purpose is the underlying determinant. For most ( not all) that is usually found in work. When no legitimate purposes present themselves the gap is filled with illegal activity.
