‘Emerald’ Green aims for Champions League

1007

There was some misunderstanding that Charles ‘Emerald’ Green’s suggestion that he was hoping to “invest in the playing side right away” might not play well with major creditor HMRC.  Capital introduced to the company after a CVA has nothing to do with a creditor’s assessment of the offer and, if anything, would offer comfort to HMRC that the company would be able to maintain future payments.

The comments are more of a challenge for the football authorities.  The independent SFA appellant panel will today assess whether to increase, reduce of remove Rangers 12 month player registration embargo.  Rangers narrative for the last two weeks is that this embargo could put them out of business.  Apparently, they need to spend MORE money in future to ensure survival.

It remains to be seen if playing victim does them any good at appeal but Green has brushed this away, Rangers now plan to put a team on the field to win the league and reach the Champions League.  Maybe not the wisest PR move.

John O’Hara, the Celtic secretary, had been unable to lure Kelly. Glass, however, was indefatigable and said he had ‘camped on his doorstep’. The 22-year-old was talked into taking part in Celtic’s first ever match, a 5-2 win over Rangers. ‘No Kelly, no Keltic’ became a catch phrase summary of the towering centre half’s significance. ‘I knew that if I could get Kelly, the rest would follow’, said Glass.

I don’t think it will be good enough either.

I have always said that the suits are doing the right thing by not saying anything, as yet there is really nothing to say.

I agree with HT and Tom M, that Pl was telling the other clubs to listen to their support,

The GB are putting the ball back into their court.

The vote imo, is a complete waste of time anycase, if they can’t get a licence, what’s the point of a vote ?

I can’t understand why the licence thing has been ignored by the media.

Theend of the season was always the goal, we are a few days away from the end of the season, things will hot up no doubt next week.

We have the Marc Daly prog next week as well.

I find it all rather sad that a few angry bares can control the country the way they are doing.

    Civil unrest my arse.

They should try living in some other parts of the world, they would be stamped out pdq, but scotland are the huns.

Yep I’d agree with that mate. Yes finances are important but integrity is paramount. The GB are quite cutely putting the onus on PL and the board.

Not often a classic game either. You do get the odd time we give them a real gubbing but in terms of football, I felt the Europa ties were better than the Hun games and the atmosphere was all about the football. I would prefer the Atlantic league option to an spl with new club or oldhuns in it. Far better to be in a pub swapping scarves with benfica or Lyon fans than receiving the unwanted gift of a screw top across the napper from an unhappy Orc!

What will your position be regarding your season ticket if integrity is ignored by Celtic ?

Just curious mate , I’m renewing but would have to take a good hard look again if the Celtic board let us down .

You don’t ask for much do you :>)

If the suits decree that the game in scotland is so corupt, and that we are being financially disadvantaged, they could use this as a huge lever to get uefa’s blessing to join another league.

The threat would be court cases if the huns are found guilty of years of corruption and fraud and theft.

I know what uefa would do if they were confronted with that scenario.

I’ll be renewing mate but I’ve had a few ding dongs with some other posters so have no intention of trying to change the minds of others who feel equally as passionately as me but whose views differ.

When it comes down to it I’m a Celtic supporter and that is far more important to me than an existing hun or a new hun. However, I can fully understand that others see differently.

In summary, SFA say punishment handed to Rangers was proportionate to crime and note contracts of existing players can still be extended

  18. Margaret McGill,

Followed that link you posted yesterday. Very weird and scary at the same time. Are those people of the same ilk as the NeoCon’s ? Are you implying a link between world wide freemasonary and the powers that be in Scotland and by extension “old Rangers”

This is only for this years misdemeanours( as Spiers called them).

How severe will the punishments be for the long term cheating by the Huns!

Expulsion is the only appropriate punishment.

    They are done.

  23. The Honest Cover-up @ 21:51,

That sums up exactly how I feel about the “need” for the dark side in Scottish football.

My Dad never took his sons to an O** F*** game as the hatred from the other side wasn’t something he wanted to expose us to. Me and my brothers are now season ticket holders in the Lisbon Lions Upper tier and have been to countless O** F*** games over the past few years. Every one has been punctuated by songs about Catholic blood, child abuse and general xenophobia.

I now have a two year old son and I would love to take him to Celtic Park when I think he’s old enough to take it all in. There is no way I would take him to an O** F*** game until he was much older and beyond influence or offence from those morons.

Should we show any remorse for wanting this out of Scottish football? Should we show any remorse for wanting this totem pole of intolerance removed from Scottish society so it can’t be danced around anymore? Absolutely not.

I’ve renewed my season ticket for next season already because I have another little one on the way and may not be able to afford it for much longer. Celtic rely on our faith in the club and our love of the club. If our directors share the depth of our feelings for the club they will expend every last ounce of energy chasing FC Rangers of Glasgow into the third division or even lower if possible.

Love Celtic to much not to renew mate but this could just be the line in the sand moment , we as a Club / a support have done nothing wrong ( so far ) but sometimes you have to stand up and fight for what you believe in .(even if that means making difficult decisions)
