FIVE LEAGUE MATCHES MOVE TO SUNDAYS

0

THE SPFL has today announced these fixture changes due to Celtic dropping down into the UEFA Europa League after the 4-3 defeat against Malmo in the Champions League Qualifier. The draw for the group stages of the Europa League takes place on Friday, while Malmo are about to discover their Champions League opponents this afternoon.

Celtic’s kick off times for these re-arranged Sunday matches are confirmed for 3pm starts but the away fixtures at Ross County, Inverness and St Johnstone are most probably going to be changed to suit the TV schedules.

You have to feel sorry for the supporters who have made travel arrangements to travel over from Ireland or up from England to attend these matches on the original Saturday dates. Even without arrangements being put in place many supporters – including season ticket holders – find it more difficult to get to the match on a Sunday rather than the Saturday. Football without fans and all that…

The new SPFL Premiership fixture dates are as follows:

Sunday, September 20, 2015   Celtic v Dundee
KO: 3.00pm (CONFIRMED)

Sunday, October 25, 2015   Celtic v Dundee United

Sunday, November 8, 2015  Ross County v Celtic

Sunday, November 29, 2015  Inverness Caley Thistle v Celtic
