Gamboa, McCarthyism

1073

Celtic were looking for a right back throughout the second half of last term, but in the early weeks of his tenure, Brendan considered Mikael Lustig and Saidy Janko sufficient for the season ahead. Mikael is four years into a successful Celtic career but his fitness issues are of a persistent nature. We’ve reached Peak Swede.

Saidy missed lot of last season, also through injury, but he showed potential in his early outing this term. Aspirations for the lad crystallised in Israel last week, but not in a good way. I’m not going to defend him, because he was unquestionably poor, but agreement only exists on his poor showing because he was prepared to receive the ball so often. Not everyone in black that night was as keen to get on the end of a pass.

That opened the door for Cristian Gamboa, 26, second choice right back for West Brom. We’re very keen, apparently. West Brom manager, Tony Pulis, is less in need of a full back whose key attribute is getting forward at speed. Horses for course, I suppose, West Brom face different challenges than Celtic.

Two rumours have circulated this week: Celtic are looking for a midfield player and James McCarthy’s position at Everton is less secure than it was a year ago. Whoever has been linking these two facts has overreached – or made them up. Celtic have no idea where this one came from but were clear, there’s nothing in it.  Getting the right midfielder remains a task in hand, but usual caveats apply.  There are no guarantees we’ll land all our targets this summer.

The Five Way Agreement is the most toxic document in the history of Scottish sport, perhaps even in the history of sport on this island. Not only is it the documented proof of the Survival Lie, but it’s the paper that shows how rancid the Victim Myth really is.

    ——–

Are you sure the 5-WA is documented proof of the Survival Lie? The 5 Parties to the Agreement are listed below. With numbers 4 and 5 being completely different entities, I see this as quite the opposite!

    (1) THE SCOTTISH FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION LIMITED

    (2) THE SCOTTISH PREMIER LEAGUE LIMITED

    (3) THE SCOTTISH FOOTBALL LEAGUE

    (4) THE RANGERS FOOTBALL CLUB PLC (IN ADMINISTRATION)

    (5) SEVCO SCOTLAND LIMITED

P.S. Keep up the good work James. Like your namesake you continue to give us plenty to smile about this season!

Yes, the Survival Lie. It’s the documented proof that it is exactly that. A lie.

Not only are the “two Rangers”‘ signatories to that deal, but Rangers got a vote in whether Sevco was allowed in the league. And even as that was going on we had a phantom Club 13 on top of it ….

  8. As an outsider looking in….

you would think that Celtic FC would be making it clear that ‘they’ are in no way connected to the 5 way agreement stuff, right ?

When they promote the upcoming game vs the huns, if they do what they’ve done in the previous 3 meetings when, Celtic FC called them – Rangers FC….all should be revealed….imho.

My expectation….Brendan will be shuvved oot to talk about ‘old firm’ and, then we’ll know where the club stands….imho.

The PLC-Hierarchy have grabbed the Celtic supporters moral-compass from them and, shuvved Brendan the squirrel out to detour them away from the possiblity of, any fans rebellion against the PLC-Hierarchy.

The old firm is back and, no amount of fan ‘statements’ in an obscure paper that nobody reads will change that.

Res:12 rebels deserve Legendary Celticness wrapped around them….imho

But, Celtic PLC should have hammered the issue before it got that far….imho.

That they didn’t, could be down to 2 factors.

1, The PLC-Hierarchy were unaware of all the swindling that was going on ?

    2. The PL-Hierarchy chose to play the long game – look the other way till the dust settles but, of most importance to them – the old firm lives on.

Celtic’s PLC-Hierarchy have looked the other way from all the £140 million that the huns swindled and, now they expect you, who has handed over his season ticket money, to do the same and move on.

The empty seat factor had the PLC-Hierarchy by the cojones.

But, Brendan the squirrel has taken all of yer eyes off the ball.

    Rangers are p#sh….imho.

But, they have tooled up in the middle of the park.

    Who are our combatants ?

Broony ? – Kid-on hard man who leans with his, waiting to be skelped chin.

Bitton ?- should never have played for the club again after faking injury during the defeat in the SCSF vs Sevco to get taken off the pitch.

McGregor – Invisible man. I thought Brendan had sussed him after the home game vs HBS when he didny track back and was, complicit in they’re 2 goals and, Brendan took him off – then he played in Israel ? Hmmmm ? Reminds me of how the invisible Peter Grant, no matter how useless, kept walking into the team week in, week out for more than a decade????? No wonder the huns won 9 in a row!

    Rogic ? – blows, hot n cold

Ye see, 1st and foremost….you have to win the ‘battles’ in the middle of the park….imho.

Remember also that, the huns might be p#sh but, they’ll be mibbery-assisted to boot Celtic off the pitch.

I don’t see any warhorses in Brendan’s team apart from young Tierney and, a properly managed Ciftci….imho.

    Anyway….

WEEBOBBYCOLLINS – I apologize for missing yer wee mammies birthday – I hope she was grand.

    Hail Hail fella.

    Top 10 Celtic experiences……..

    1. Being at Easter Road when we clinched 8 in a row under Mr Stein, was only a wee bhoy but got totally sucked in by the YNWA’s on the big giant sloped terracing full of jubilant Tims – When the Cellic was, the Cellic at a time when we were one of the worlds great teams – Magic.

    2. Being at Brockville when we won the last of the – ‘Honest 9 in a row’ – as a wee bhoy, I thought that it was a given for Cellic to be the Champs all the time.

    3. Being at the SCF vs Dundee Utd 3-0 in the same year as the – ‘Honest 9 in a row’ – it was the only game that my late mother attended, a grand ole year indeed.

    4. The year that Mr Stein was hurt in the car crash was a bad year for us but, I remember being in the front of the Main Stand on a midweek 0-0 draw with the huns and, coming away listening to me Da talking about how that young guy who made is old firm debut was gonna be a player – Tommy Burns(RIP) – little did I know that, TB would go on to provide me with a treasure trove of memories of what it felt like to be as Wullie Haughey would go on to say one day that – “Every Celtic supporter played for Celtic ‘through’ Tommy Burns.” – nobody had described it like that before and when WH said those words at TB’s passing, that’s when the loss of TB was truly felt by me.

    5. Being on the giant sloped terracing in the 1977 league title clincher in the Joe Craig game, little did anybody suspect that that day would be the last of Mr Stein’s Championee days – Magical.

    6. Being in the soaked Cellic end at Hundump in the Andy Lynch SCF vs the huns, little did we know that the player whom I would say was the best player that I have ever seen playing for us was going to be leaving for Liverpool – King Kenny captained us to Mr Stein’s last double….weeks after it as a young bhoy I got to taste what Celtic depression felt like as the King left us – I would say that King Kenny Dalglish was the greatest player to ‘ever’ play on the British Isles – the white Pele.

    7. This is strange but, a 1-3 mibbery robbery at the auld ibrokes at new year 1978 courtesy of a mib called JRP Gordon was a game strewn with the feeling of magic as, before the start of the games in those days, the disc jockey would play the top 5 hit songs in the uk, when it got to no-1 Paul McCartney -“Mull of Kintyre” – the Cellic end held up they’re scarves YNWA-style and statrted to sing the song. It lasted for about 30 seconds and the huns all started booing and throwing bottles onto the pitch – the dj had to stop playing the uk’s no-1 hit song because it was by – Paul McCartney????????? Anyway the horrible afternoon went onto forge my character as a young Cellic fan when I realized just what our club was up against. The raw-evil-hun-hatred opened up a new page for me……

    8. The best night of my Celtic supporting life – the 4-2 gemme, the best ever game in the Jungle imho, my favorite ‘ever’ Cellic player Murdo MacLeod scored his 1st and, best of many magical hunskelping goals – Magic, just Magic.

    9. The SCF 1980 – the Hundump Riot game, one of the best days of my life, the day that the Scottish establishment knew what it would be like to try to fluk with rebellious Celtic supporters – they got the message George McLuskey Ar La -Magical day.

    10. Stopping the huns beating Mr Stein’s 9 in a row – Wim, Murdo, Henrik – Thank you, thank you, thank you.

  12. CELTIC have opened negotiations with Juventus for midfielder Hernanes, according to reports in Italy.

Juventus are said to be keen to offload the Brazil international as he no longer fits into manager Massimiliano Allegri’s plans.

The arrival of Miralem Pjanic from Roma this summer has pushed the attacking midfielder further down the pecking order.

And Italian website Calcio Mercato Web claim Celtic could offer Hernanes an escape route with the transfer deadline fast approaching.

The report says the SPL champions were the first to reach out to Juve and are keen to see a deal done for the 31-year-old.

It is said Hernanes could be lured to Celtic Park with the promise of Champions League football after Brendan Rodgers’ side secured safe passage to the group stages last week.

Celtic avoided an upset to beat Israeli side Beer Sheva 5-4 on aggregate and have been draw in Group C along with Barcelona, Manchester City and Borussia Monchengladbach

Hernanes made 24 appearances for Juve last term, scoring one goal and providing one assist , but started only 16 times.

The Brazilian has had previous spells at Inter Milan, Lazio and Sao Paulo and is under contract with Juve until June 2018.

He has 27 caps for Brazil and was part of Luiz Felipe Scolari’s sides at the 2013 Confederations Cup and 2014 World Cup.

When I asked at a Res12 meeting what Celtic would call the new club when they played at Celtic park I was told Rangers as that is what they are called.

  15. Yeah that Rowntree guy is a fake account; he’s been rumbled a few times, and writes the most ludicrous stuff you’ve ever seen. A Joey Barton style “Celtic fan” as well, who frequently tries to embarrass us with the shocking stuff he puts up with our name on it.

The Wilshire story actually originated in the straight press down there. Which means it’s probably the textbook definition of “made up crap” … but I thought it worth a think. Seems they had a good discussion on TalkSport about it earlier and agreed the move would make sense.

Still, not gonna happen. Sad to say.

  17. Has Senderos passed his medical yet? The SMS are extremely silent on this one. Wonder what the excuse will be this time?

  18. how desperate for a club must Senderos be if he is still hanging about waiting on a deal from Sevco? Although to him it probably seems like only a few minutes have passed.

  19. HRVATSKI JIM:

I saw that last night on Sky Sports and I thought “Wow. Great signing for them … What a team they’ll be to watch this coming season …”

And two second later I remembered who he’ll be lining up against.

Makes you want to hide under the bed, doesn’t it?

  20. I don’t think we will sign a midfielder. Leaving it a bit late if we are. Brendan may have missed out on his preferred choices, I heard Bentaleb was one, he went to Schalke. Looks like it could be Brown, Bitton, McGregor, Armstrong and Henderson for the short term at least.

When the PLC-Hierarchy said they were – “Surprised!” – after LNS, Celtic fans should have got the message when. shortly after that, Aberdeen fans waved a banner inside Celitic Park saying….

….”Celtic FC – Your Silence Is Defeaning!”

That was the time to train the guns on the Celtic-Complicity in all the hun swindling….imho.

But, the Celtic fans of today showed they’re true colors by munching on mountains of, jelly & ice cream – before the stake was hammered through the dying huns heart….imho.
