REGAN HENDRY thumped in a hat-trick as Celtic’s talented youngsters swept away Michael O’Halloran and Sevco Rangers in a 4-0 drubbing in the Under-20s Development League clash at Cappielow today.

The former St Johnstone winger, who has been banished from the first team after failing to turn up for a kids’ game against Hearts on Monday, lasted just over an hour before he was hauled off by boss Graeme Murray.

The Hoops took the lead in the sixth minute when midfielder Hendry netted and Tommy McIntyre’s youngsters doubled their lead seven minutes with an own goal from Kyle Bradley.

Hendry doubled his goal tally and made it 3-0 on the half-hour mark when he sizzled a close-range drive into the net.

The Celts were awarded a penalty-kick three minutes after the interval and hot-shot Hendry hammered in his treble.

O’Halloran’s cameo appearance came to an end in the 62nd minute when he was replaced by Billy Gilmour.

Overall, a satisfying victory for the young Hoops who might have scored more but for a valiant performance from the visiting keeper.
