HOME SWEET HOME AS CELTIC FACE BRECHIN IN SCOTTISH CUP

1

HOLDERS Celtic were drawn against Brechin City at Parkhead in this afternoon’s Fourth Round ballot.

Brendan Rodgers’ side will take on the Glebe Park part-timers in Glasgow on the weekend of January 20/21.

The Hoops are red-hot favourites to overcome the Championship side who have struggled this season.

The tie of the round, though, is at Tynecastle where Hearts will play their Edinburgh rivals Hibs for the third successive season in the competition.

Neil Lennon’s men overcame the Gorgie outfit last term before going down to Aberdeen in the semi-final.

A Highland League club will certainly be in the fifth round with Formartine United due to host Cove Rangers.

There are two other all-Premiership confrontations – one at Fir Park where there will be a Lanarkshire derby between Motherwell and Hamilton Accies while Kilmarnock will take on Ross County at Rugby Park.

Sevco Rangers – surprise! surprise! – were drawn outside Glasgow and will have to travel to the far north to play Fraserburgh.
