‘I’M READY FOR CELTIC CHALLENGE NOW,’ KOUASSI

EBOUE KOUASSI, Celtic’s £2.8million January purchase from Russian outfit Krasnador, is ready to make up for lost time at the champions.

The 19-year-old Ivorian midfielder has made one start and three substitute appearances to help Brendan Rodgers’ side extend their unbeaten 40-game domestic sequence.

And Kouassi now feels he is up to the challenge of fighting for a first team spot.

He said: “I’m settling in well and I’m happy because now I have played some games and had some more time on the pitch.

“Initially, it was difficult, but now I feel better and more comfortable playing in the team.

“There is not a big difference between Scottish and Russian football as both are physical and fast.

“At the start, I had a lot of time to watch and I remember one of my first games away to Dundee when I came on and it was a bit catastrophic!

“But I learned from that and now I feel a lot better.

“I feel ready to start games. I have worked for this, but it all depends on the gaffer and I will wait until he gives me my chance and then I will play.”
