Inner Record culture disrobed, signing up to the Celtic rulebook

In many places it would be practically inconceivable that someone could be employed in this position:

capture-20170119-220102
And get away with running rubbish like this on a back page cover:

capture-20170119-220127
But then you see more and get a picture of the organisation involved:

The Record have been caught displaying their inner culture and will no doubt be forced into a remedial action, but getting caught was just misfortune. The culture exists and has informed articles for years.  They have gone too far down this road to even begin to understand what they’ve done to a once-strong demographic.

An echo reached me from 2012 today, which illuminated yesterday’s article. As the SPL debated serious issues in 2012, a consensus emerged on what subsequently took place. There were hold-outs to the new majority, however.

One director of a club near Glasgow (no guesses, now) made his position clear: “I’m not signing up to any f****** Celtic rulebook.”

The comment met with incredulity, as the Celtic rulebook wasn’t part of the conversation. Fans and clubs across the country came to the same conclusion about how our game should proceed.  It was no more the Celtic rulebook than the Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs rulebook, but prejudices occasionally seep out when people don’t get what they want.

This is what we’re up against. They are still out there, writing articles for the paying public, or voting on the future of our game.

As for the Celtic rulebook, I’ve seen it. It contains one page and only three words: “Pay your bills.” That doesn’t sound like much but remarkably, it may deliver 20-in-a-row. I hope others don’t start to copy us.

  5. Noticed in the first half, City player ruled offside and resultant free-kick given in City half. Cue commentators mocking referee.

“You can’t be offside in your own half.”

The rule was changed this season. You can be caught offside, but only penalised when you play the ball, and the free-kick is taken from the point where the you played the ball, hence you can indeed see a free-kick for offside in the offending team’s half.

Ok, we are just supporters, but these commentators and pundits are paid good money to know the rules of the game.

    Dessybhoy,

I was saying to Auldheid last night that I had not fully read James Doleman’s twitter account to see what arguments were set out in detail.

I did see that at one point Rod McKenzie from Harper McLeod did say that Sevco were not entitled to play any matches as prior to a certain date they were not members of the SFA or the League. I would need to see the evidence and arguments set out but I think failing to spell out exactly what happened in law is just crazy.

However, it might be the case that Liquidation was not relied upon because of what Corals themselves said in their own PR, etc. about what happened to Rangers.

The judgement will be interesting for all sorts of reasons.

  7. 2 2 now.

But flick to 414 glasgow humping Leicester in the rugby. Record score!

Delaney’s, good to hear your mum is in good spirit.

El Madrigal has been done up and renamed with a sponsor ‘s name.

The Celtic Submari banner was not on display at their last home game.

It looked like the new sponsors fancy advertising hording can’t be covered by flags and banners.

I hope the Submari win tonight, Valencia have been poor this season.

PS the Osasuna fans have a tricolour behind one of the goals at their ground.

  9. I have 2 x £5 bets on either team to win 3-2.

    City @ 28/1

    Spurs @ 33/1

    Give us a goal.

  10. Referee messes up, clear push on Sterling in the area as he goes through, not given, then Spurs go up and score.

  13. Thank god the fitba is back again tomorrow. I followed the hun game on the internet today and whilst I was glad the were getting beat, when the final result came in I was nonplussed (think that is the first time vie used that word, hope its in context) They and their results are almost becoming an irrelevance. could the days where we looked at our result and compared it to theirs to judge progress be gone

The Celtic Submari banner has been on display at every game this season, the Bhoys fae the Villarreal CSC have moved to a place on the sidelines to the right from the tv gantry. There has been a flag with the badges of St. Pauli, Villarreal and Celtic behind the goal to the left of the tv gantry all season.

Still chances to buy raffle tickets for the matchworn and signed Nir Bitton Champions League shirt.

I know £19:67 is expensive for a raffle ticket but only 99 in total are being sold and all proceeds go to Mary’s Meals and The Celtic Charity Foundation.

These particular proceeds will help feed 265 starving children from the VOA1 Academy in Liberia and help those who are on the poverty line and in need of the help of the Celtic Charity Foundation.

All part of the 1967 challenge.

Delaney’s, thanks. That’s good news its still on display .

I’m no great fan of Rugby but marvellous to see the Glasgow Warriors from the Scotstoun Showground absolutely humping Leicester earlier.

I know a few guys who have been at Twickenham for Scotland England matches and told me some England rugby fans are middle to upper class huns
