  1. Hunderbirds are Gone on

    BIGCHIPSUK

Excellent stats. Really interesting and a surprise to me. Easy to get swept along with opinions, rather than facts. Thanks for that.

  2. Loved it. It was all about the 3 points and we got them.

    Typical CQN match day commentary:-

    We’re Rubbish

    They’re better than us

Don’t know what the manager is thinking

Get Players X, Y and Z off and I’ll drive them to the airport

We’re 1:0 up and playing rubbish- told you they’d score

This is going to end in defeat- half the players are not playing

This is getting worse- they are going to win

Oh! we’ve scored- didnae deserve it

Probably have to log off now

Now, that does not paper over any Euro cracks. It does not make up for the Molde and Malmo results. It was not a good game of football. But it was a 3:1 win against the majority of the half time predictions and the prevailing mood up to the 59th minute. Thankfully, it’s just bumping gums on the internet and has absolutely no influence on the team. The away support continues to support the team when at the game, at least until defeat is inevitable. They earn the right to let rip if they choose. Our home support could learn a lot from them. There are probably a higher proportion of anti-Board views amongst the away support and a fair mattering of guys who do not think Ronny should be manager but they support. They deserve the 3 points today for their backing and commitment.

On to the Hamilton game and a wee night out afterwards with the 5s crew.

P.S. Andy Walker described the Carlton Cole hand ball as “unintentional”. Hmmm! I am not so sure- looked like a flicked hand to me. Intentional or unintentional, it was definitely feckin hilarious and a GIRUY for last year’s Hampden Semi final and the CP fixture after it when they played backs-in goalies on both occasions.

No, I haven’t done the Euro stats, but I think Ronny’s record is worse than Neil’s. However, Neil’s team did have the advantage of a more competitive league, where there was more importance on winning EVERY game, so his players were probably better equipped to cope with the pressures of expectation, and more able to make the step up in quality needed in Europe.

  4. Hard fought win today. That will have the gutter SMSM frantically changing their headlines for the morning papers. GIRUY.

What was all the talk on here about young MacGregor being so one footed?

Another week of bad manners, insults, entitled drivel and agenda driven brain washing beckons on CQN.

  5. Big Chips

    Very interesting stats.

Pity that so many Tims are lapping up the media campaign against Ronny.

I honestly believe that the media are crapping themselfs that Ronny will get it right.

  6. mike in toronto on

looks like AM is on the verge of sealing the davis cup for GB …. have had my doubts about his game (think he could have won more, if he had a more positive approach ), but, I have to admit that he has won more big ones than I had thought he would.

  7. How could the manager play Cole? How can you sweat that much in Inverness? Something’s not right at Celtic!

  8. Mike in Toronto,

That was a phenomenal point to win under extreme pressure, class player.

Agree with that. They seem to compete with the big names Ajax and Fernebache but have attitude of we just need to turn up against lesser opponents. Molde and Maribor been the worst.

  10. Joe Filippis Haircut on

From 7 points behind to 7 points ahead a great turn around from Ronny and the Bhoys and things will improve as our centre backs learn each others game. H.H.

This is the end game, since the SFA and the huncolluders are accountable in law ….

THANK YOU, AULHEID ….. A CELTIC LEGEND

Lest it get lost in the Move On propaganda war of the Scottish media

readers should be clear that in June 2011 RFC lied to retain their licence to play in the CL.

In 2012 they failed to provide the paperwork to SPL lawyers that should also have been given to the SFA in 2011.

In 2011 the SFA were negligent at best, complicit at worst.

But get this. In 2014 SFA were asked if they had had sight of the wee tax case bill in 2011 to which they said there were no papers in SFA files and more than a year later they have

    a) stonewalled on confirming the above which is what enquirers were told in 2014 ie no bill submitted, but more seriously have failed as far as is known to raise the issue with Andrew Dickson the RFC/TRFC man who was at RFC in 2011 and sat on 3 out of 4 Liicencing Committee meetings that year and at TRFC in 2012, to find out why the same information kept from SPL lawyers in 2012 was kept from SFA in 2011.

Do the SFA realise that since 2014 they may be covering up a fraud they were part of in 2011 and is that why they continue to stonewall on answering a letter put to them by Celtic shareholders ?

    Move on?

Not until the guilty are named or a valid explanation given for SFA inaction

Has there been a press conference from DEILA or is he still getting tips on removing that pesky negative energy.

Well done, Andy Murray….. An awesome sportsman / competitor……

  15. Great result again after a European game. That must be a record for points gained after Euro matches?

That Congolese boy that came on late for ICT (Motombo?) looked as if he had a nice touch and hold up play.

Dont let the facts get in the way of the witchhunt led by MSM and follow followed by many on here.

  17. Can we not loan a few players to D Utd in jan , win win situation , we get fringe players playing to improve confidence and match fitness and keep them in SPL

  18. great result….decent performance apart from the catalogue of errors for their goal. Have now seen Carlton Coles touch, pace and waistline….think I`ll get the boots looked out.

  21. That was a disaster of a 1st half today. The worst midfield performance I have seen in a long time.Armstrong was totally useless,Johansen, not much better.Rogic, knocked off the ball too easy.Biton struggling because of the rest being out of the game.Maybe some think I am a RD fan. No,what I am ,is a give him a chance fan.If he cant learn who can do him a turn when the chips are down,as they were today,in that 1st half, then he has a problem.

He redeemed himself a bit 2nd half with whipping off Armstrong, and replacing him with Allan, and the introduction of Cole, who looks as fit as me,but a massive lump in the box,and hopefully with game time will get fitter, match fit.He must drop Armstrong,Johansen, and give Allan the run of midfield.Broony is a massive loss, but we will see who steps up to the mark in his absence.Rogic,if he used his physique, another big lump, would be a player.Great feet, but a bit weak.If he does not he will end up a nearly man.

Teirney again terrific,as was Simunovic.Cant think of anymore, apart from LGs effort, and great goal.

3 reat points in our normally, most difficult game.

  22. Good result , after a dissapionting midweek game , followed by a team that has given us many problems before , well chuffed for the bhoys and the travelling support , cap doffed :))

  23. Excellent result today under the circumstances, well done to Ronny and the team.

Scott Allan looks a definite player. The prospect of him, Jozo, Henderson, Christie and Tierney is a good thought for the future.
