  1. Celtic have cancelled the club’s official supporters flight after concerns surrounding the safety of fans in Turkey.

It follows the downing of a Russian jet on the Turkey-Syria border, some 500 miles away from Istanbul – which home to Fenerbahce.

Despite the distance between the Syrian border and the North Western city, Celtic are taking no risk ahead of their final group stage game in the Europa League on December 10th.

Fans travelling to Istanbul will have already decreased following the Hoops exit from the competition was confirmed after Thursday’s 2-1 loss to Ajax.

Of course many fans will wait to see what the CT have to say on this matter, They are not amused allegedly!

  2. He tells lies.

Sevco face another week in crisis with Sports Direct expected to reject the conditions attached to the repayment of their £5m crisis loan.

Five months after 53.64% of shareholders voted not to repay the loan Dave King claimed on Friday that the company had decided that it was the right thing to do due to a change in circumstances.

While the shareholders stood to applaud the decision that they had recently rejected no announcement has been made on the club website which has still to reveal the results of the resolutions put before the people.

On his way to Glasgow Airport, passing up the opportunity to watch Mark Warburton’s stormtroopers reach the final of the Petrofac Training Cup, Mr King was interviewed by STV and Sky Sports.

With no detail of the £5m payment being published it is believed to be dependent on Sports Direct dropping all legal action being taken against Mr King, the company and the SFA.

King, who was recently described as a glib and shameless liar by a South African judge, is due to appear in court in London on December 9 charged with breaching an injunction preventing him from discussing details of the Rangers Retail deal with Sports Direct.

Further cases will be held in Scotland into the SFA’s decision to allow Mr King to become a director of a football club with big Mike also challenging the decision to fine him £1,000 for a breach of the Five Way Agreement which allowed him a 10% stake in the club formed in 2012.

Looking shifty and uncomfortable in front of the cameras the South African based criminal told STV: “We felt it was the right thing to do at this moment in time. We’re not in a position to speak about Sports Direct but I just felt it was the right thing to do.

“It was a change of heart and I think what was really, really exciting from my point of view was the speed with which we marshalled the resources.

“We made the decision with the board last night, subject to me getting the money required and within an hour this morning I phoned the guys and the £5m was available. That was exciting to show the level of commitment everyone has got for the club.

“We’ll make the money available immediately and then it’s a question of the legal transfer. There’s obviously securities and so we pay the money and they release the securities, that’s the legal process. The main thing is that we say to them the money is there, it’s in the bank and just for the lawyers to sort out.”

With the conditions that Mr King has attached it’s highly unlikely that the lawyers will ‘sort it out’.

Asked to explain the u-turn over repaying the £5m loan King added: “As opposed to when? Previously I had no intention. I just think the circumstances have changed and I think it’s right to do it now. I can’t comment because of the injunction as to why I’ve done it but I think it’s the right time.”

John Fallon 2After Friday’s fanfare and high-fiving it looks like business as usual as the details slowly emerge. Newly appointed director Douglas Park was not on the stage at the AGM and has still to confirm that he agreed to contribute to the £5m fund after the Friday morning conference call.

Long term blazer chaser Paul Murray hasn’t commented on his first ever investment in the club.

Despite the wishful thinking from a number of ‘informed sources’ there has been no comment from BDO ahead of Wednesday’s deadline to submit an appeal against Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs winning the Big Tax Case against Rangers (IL).

Auldheid. Ref the Living Wage. You often refer to it in terms of charity, specifically in terms of those of us who favour it paying some form of tithe.

I disagree. Paying it is actually about moral decency within a commercial environment. The kind of thing that I think you strived to promote throughout your own professional career.

Probably the worst place to go for an away match, the club is doing the right thing imo.

Just ask the Leeds utd supporters for confirmation.

Horrible place to watch a game of football.

  5. Burgas Hoops take your point but I would be loathe to ask Leeds Utd supporters about anything to do with football, while accepting they were viciously attacked. H H Hebcelt

I only commented on Leeds fans because my pal (who supports Leeds) was there in 2000.

A more genuine guy you could’nt meet btw, he witnessed the stabbings and could do hee-haw about it.

Their only fault was being there (his words not mine)

Ive been up there a few times when big games are on, you really need to see the place when European teams visit.

  7. Tony..,

My face will never be red over Res 12, its an attempt to find out if my club were cheated.

If it fails, well, at least I tried, what did you do ?

    hehehehehe

  8. Great article, and not a mention of the living wage, a breath of fresh air.

RONNY DEILA last night praised the “perfect” Leigh Griffiths on a day when another Celtic striker’s career at the club may have ended.

While Anthony Stokes looked on from the main stand having being dropped from the squad, something he ranted about on Twitter, the team’s No.1 striker got his 19th goal of the season in a 3-1 win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle to go seven points clear at the top of the Ladbrokes Premiership.

And Deila was quick to praise the one-time bad-boy of Scottish football who has changed his ways on and off the park.

The Norwegian was clearly thinking about Stokes as sang the praise of Griffiths whose attitude, it would seem, is in complete contrast to the ostracised Irishman.

Deila said: “Leigh is always 100 per cent in his attitude in training. Every day. His attitude to being a professional footballer is perfect.

“He loves playing football, he loves running, he loves scoring goals. He is also getting smarter and watching what he eats, how he lives outside the pitch as well.

“It is great to have a striker like that. He has scored so many goals for us, even in Europe, and different goals as well.

“He can get a goal from nothing and that gives everyone so much confidence.”

Deila stopped short of saying there was no way back for Stokes, but it is almost impossible to see the 27-year-old not leaving the club in January.

Stokes, on Twitter, said: “Buzzing to be brought all the way up to Inverness with the team to sit in the stands today, lovely weather for it too,

“Who gives a monkey’s about wages when you’re not playing! It’s about playing and contributing, not picking up a wage.”

Most Celtic fans were not impressed and responding to a tweet suggesting he is happy to pick up his wages, Stokes said: “Obviously I am! You would too if you were doing double sessions every day, fit and ready to play.”

Stokes took to social media later to apologise.

Deila has one reliable goalscorer and Griffiths, as always, delighted in finding the back of the net.

The Celtic boss said: “I love watching Leigh after be scores. I love players who just live to play football, who find the desire every day.

“It’s not about money for them, it’s about playing football – and that is Leigh Griffiths.

“I don’t know how much he is worth now, but it would be a lot. We want to keep him at Celtic for a long time because he is a great player and a terrific guy.

“Leigh has been brilliant this season, he scores almost every game. Yes, he had some chances against Ajax, but every striker misses some chances.

“He worked hard, he has a good attitude and that is really what you can expect from every player every time. Ups and downs in performance will happen, but again he has bounced back today and I am happy for him and I am happy for the team.”

Deila was also pleased with Scott Allan who came on early in the second-half and played well.

He said: “Scott was very, very good. That is two times coming on now. What I am so happy about is when you have a good attitude in training, you work hard, you are loyal, you are very humble and want to learn, like Callum McGregor and with Scott Allan, you see they get payback time.

“That is what is so nice to see as a coach. Players who really want to understand and look into themselves instead of looking about at everybody else always get achievement.

“Those three have been unbelievably good examples of players who have been out and who worked themselves into things and show on the pitch that they want to play.”

Carlton Cole’s first touch after 2 months as a Celtic player must have given the cqn 5s Bhoys hope that they can still make it!

  20. Good to see the Celtic winning yesterday.

Good to see the Celtic winning….any time.

Good to see Calum getting played in what seems to be a position that suits him better…all young boys shade off…it’s about, how you come back…imho

Young KT looks the part, he’s a good yin.

But,…..dont be fooled by this latest show of, shooting fish in a barrel.

Does yesterday mean that Ronny is a good manager?

Some folk will see it that way.

Some folk will say that it disny make up for Thursday night.

Others already know that Ronny hisny goat it.

Stokes’s twittery-tweeting stuff is another example that, the dressing room dont see Ronny as…the man.

Commons’s erse shouldny have found it’s way back into the dressing room after his hunlike outburst in Molde. He’s apologised but…a forced apology means hee-haw.

Can ye imagine him acting that way at – Mr Stein, Mr O’Neill, Mr Jansen, Mr Lennon….?

His fat erse would have been botted up tunnel then, up & doon the dressing room.

If, Johnny Collins gets pulled for his remark about the huns then, can ye imagine this same regime of slithering custodians, aligning themselves with a group of disgruntled shareholders who want justice brought to bear on the governance of Scottish football….?

    Nah, me neither.

Anyway….Ronny hisny goat it – Johnny Collins has….Ronny is a puppet – Johnny Collins isny…and, he’s played at a higher level than anybody at the club and, he was a maverick in a Celtic team which operated a cronyism-clique ie: Burns , McStay and Grant….much to the regression of the team as…imho….Johnny Collins was a one-man Celtic team for the six years that he played in the hoops…a series of what – McNeill, Brady, Macari, Burns – all failed to break the McStay & Grant axis in the central midfied position’s which held back the progress of the club, on and off the pitch.

In a nutshell…when Collins played for Celtic….McStay was done and, Grant was useless. Indeed, when Macari became manager…he came out publicly to tell the fans that the players were demanding pay rises…?…Trying to rip p#sh oot the new manager….?….Anyway, Macari said that, he couldn’t believe what he was hearing from such a bunch of conceited players…Macari said that he told the players – “You haven’t won a trophy for these Celtic supporters for six years and….yer in here looking for more money?”

Needless to say, from that point on….Macari had a collection of players in huffs and cliques and cronyism took hold of the dressing room.

Indeed, to be specific….Macari didny see a captain in Paul Mcstay…Macari was right.

Indeed as, establishment-cage ratting-journalist-hun-skelper-board-sacker-extraordinaire(Gerry McNee) said, four months after Macari had been sacked…”What’s all this about, putting the arm round poor Paul after his penalty miss v’s RR in the LCF?….Have you ever heard of a Celtic captain…terrified to take a penalty kick in a cup final v’s RR?…Something is not right in the footballing dept at Celtic Park.”…..This observation was wrongly dismissed by Celtic supporters as, McNee being anti-Celtic.He told the truth and was branded a pariah.

Celtic will die without the….pariahs….to give them the necessary needle.

Give Jeanette the keys of the club, her club, your club.

Give John Collins the keys to the dug-out and, let the rebellion begin in earnest…on the pitch.

Get the banners produced and paraded ootside the stadium….keeping yer money in yer pockets…not the boards.

That’s the plan to make Celtic into, CELTIC Football Club.

    Wake up or, roll over…..

  21. I’v told you all, many times, anyone who slags the club / board on here and I’m on, I’m into them, I agree that some don’t see eye to eye with the club, that I get, but him and his head hunters are at it constantly, ergo I defend the club / board, the name calling starts, fine by me, they get it back, I’m going to appolligise for standing up and backing my club / board? While they rip it apart, I’m sorry it’s not happening, unless of course the person Whois blog it is tells me different, I’ll keep my defence of the club / board going, I’d rather talk football any day, but politics seems to be taking over in here, and we all know who the elephant in the room is.
