“People don’t realise how hard he trains or how much he works at it” – Kieran Tierney, talking about Leigh Griffiths. Therein lies a story. One young player, who has worked enormously on his development, recognising the efforts of our other clear success story from this season.
Anyone who believes there is a consistency in the application at training of professional footballers is misinformed. Some are there early and/or stay late to work on their own. Some breeze in at the last minute and never hang around to run, lift or practice with a ball after formal training ends.
The club provides players with breakfast and lunch, but can’t monitor their evening meals or snacks. Or more. Some don’t need to be monitored, others do.
In three months we’ll watch thousands of dedicated athletes, swimmers and sportspeople of many disciplines, pretty much all who work on their development 24×365. Some live lives in the margin of early rises and hermit-like lifestyles. Most footballers live a different reality.
Things are changing at Celtic – and have been going on since before the Ronny era. Players like Kieran Tierney have been brought up to understand the importance of lifestyle and hard work. For years, young players’ attitude has been a major factor in determining if Celtic will retain their services.
Success is not just about inherent genius.

WC confirmed all you have to do is write to PL and request a meeting.
You say you have already. Now you are saying you have ‘written to Celtic’ on several occasions. Who were these letters addressed to, and on what dates(approx)? Since you are not prepared to accept anything without evidence, why should anyone else?
Why don’t you call now and request a meeting with PL? They will take your details and you can let us know the outcome. You’re posting on a blog so I am making the assumption you have a couple of minutes to spare to do so.
It’d be hugely beneficial and helpful for us all if you did that.
Whats the worst that can happen?
Looking for 1 ticket for the Hearts game to morrow,I stay in Livingston,
From an SFA spokesperson lol, hilarious , and they still didn’t say what part of the club/company they made him fit and proper for, there lyes the story, hey ho, more spin.
It is regrettable that we found ourselves in an unnecessary Judicial Review process in the first place: one that serves only to absorb Scottish football’s time, money and human resource which could otherwise have been utilised for the good of the game. The same applies to responding to these unedifying comments.”
Tony I was simply responding to question from another poster. Lawwell holds the support in contempt so I certainly wasn’t surprised I didn’t get a response.
Traditionalist you have gone from accusing me of not taking up a direct offer to,speak to PL to now saying I should phone and ask to speak to him.
Firstly do you now concede there was not in fact any direct offer to speak to pl?
Secondly what do you think my chances are of actually speaking to him? There is more chance that the board will see the light, confess to their disasters and resign (not very likely eh)?
On this day 4 years ago.

And where is it I have demanded evidence? You must be getting me mixed up with someone else. All the evidence junkies are on the happy clappy and now deluded side of this debate.
Shall I pass you my diary too traditionalst.
It really all does get very silly. All to deny what’s in front of you.

Replied,bud.

NEGANON
Confession is good for the soul but not,for some, their self-esteem.
I wish you COULD get a face-to-face with PL. But I doubt it will happen.
Keep sniping away, bud. Like I do. But do yer level best to differentiate between fact and conjecture.
(Fifa,hark at me…)
Btw,I hold dear my clean criminal record,so no chance of me asking to meet PL in person(!)
FIFA?
Ffs…
NEGANON2
All you can do is ask, you neve know, ?

WC has confirmed you can meet with PL, if you wish. You’d rather play word games on CQN. Telling.
The chances of actually speaking to him? You’ll never know until you try. Why the stalling?
Anecdotal evidence but WC stated another poster had similiar concerns and was reassured by the responses from Lawwell. The problem is you jumped the gun a year ago and are refusing to listen to reason. I am not questioning your grievances here, but to walk away and take next to no forthright action tells me you don’t have the courage of your convictions on this one.
Didn’t you want Paul67 to demonstrate that he wasn’t working for PL?
NEGANNON2
I’v spoken to PL a few times, and found him straight with his answers, no matter what the question is, BUT , no man can please everyone, no man.
THEBHOYFROMOZ on 29TH APRIL 2016 10:48 AM
Thanks.
I`m being told that Celtic are “in extremis ” so that really cheered me up.
As Kris and Charlie are rubbished on these pages , I recall that huge contribution which they made.
I refuse to believe that they have “lost it.”
Either the ability or the will.
Neg, I am doing very well thanks, I have for some time been fearful of a horrible ending, much like the quality of football that I have been watching for some time. I am always hopeful of a positive outcome but the lack of any communication from the club is the most worrying situation. As a PLC, the board should be at the very least, reporting back to shareholders in respect of the ongoing resolution 12, not to mention the perception that the governance of the game generally in Scotland is compromised. Unfortunately, the present custodians don’t have the foresight or good grace to understand their duties towards their shareholders, never mind the bulk of the non-shareholding support.
Regardless of support or non support of the board, their actions do not stand up to scrutiny.
Why doesn’t PL come on here for a couple of
hour’s and answer all our question’s about what
direction the club is going.

Might be a good idea, but there’s now a huge section of the support that refuse to trust him regardless of what he says. On that basis it may well be time for him to step down.

Magic, mate. We could have taken ten aff them that night.
But…
Whit choob nearly gave away a cheap pen at 1’04”?
Btw,had to switch JavaScript back on to watch it. While I was on,I thought I’d c&p this.

I heard the original from Peggy March on R2 last night. But I reckon those young GB whippersnappers have never heard that one.
(Cue SOT,mibbe…)
Only one communication from the club matters for me.
Ronny is gone.
A winning team and the angst will too .
To an extent. :-)
Ye cannae please all of the people …………etc.etc.
WEEMINGER………fair point, but would it not help
him if he had a chance to address his critic’s concerns.
NYE BEVAN
PL on here to answer questions? Why? They all know the answers on here already ffs, scroll back for two years, some of the most educated fans in Scotland on here ffs man :)
TRAD88
No offence, but there is no way that just because WC or anyone else says it is so that an unsolicited letter to PL asking to discuss NEGANON’s misgivings will be met with a positive response.
Beat him with a stick of you like-but not that one. PL has other things to do in life. He would rather put needles through his eyes than meet everyone who disagrees with him.
Neither would I,I don’t blame him.
The problem here is the wording of WC’s post. As if any disaffected customer of any company can demand a meeting with the CEO.
Absolute nonsense. He may meet and greet on occasion, but you try to get a face-to-face wi the CEO of Tesco cos yer loaf went mouldy as soon as you bought it,and see how far you get.

it’s way beyond a mouldy loaf mate.

you better tell him that JERSEY ROYALS are not a breakaway faction of THE SONS OF STRUTH.
My uncle, a long term SB holder had a meeting with PL about three years ago. Very cordial, cup of tea etc. Peter Lawwell was very decent. I won’t talk about their conversation.
Suffice to say the SB wasn’t renewed 2 years ago.
Traditionalist, Why don’t you meet up with PL and explain to him about the protests in the car park you’ve been encouraging people to organise on these pages.
Tony Donnelly, @ 11.19 What about the ‘educated fans’ in Ireland, England, Canada, Australia etc On these pages?
BOBBY MURDOCH’S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS on 29th April 2016 11:23 am
With respect, you can’t say that for sure.
All I am saying to NegAnon is give it a try and report back, whether that be the outcome of a meeting or a rejected request, whatever.
Its telling that there is reluctance to take any further action on NegAnons part.
The difference is everyone needs a supermarket. Not everyone needs Celtic. A Tesco customer is unlikely to have serious misgivings over the running of the company over one bad experience. If he does, he just picks another supermarket. Hardly the same dynamics at play.
If negAnon really has the courage of his convictions, he won’t let this lie. So far, he’s been good for playing word games on CQN.
We’re going to need a bit more than that.

I don’t think you’ve been following the conversation.
There are a handful of individuals on this site who are refusing to go and watch Celtic or part with any funds to the club.
That is clearly a problem. My issue is with them sitting at home hoping for someone else to do something about it.
They wanted rid of Ronny , he’s going.
As for Whois to take his place, there’s no fav. As they all can’t agree, no surprise there then eh?
The want rid of the board and PL.
When that happens, all those who can’t agree on who the new manager will be, will just appoint fan representatives on the board, with the old board and PL, and RD all gone, things will run nice and smooth last sixteen of the CL and a brand new SFA board, ah ffs it’s a doddle, roll on next season.

Are you not annihilating the flavour of the potatoes with that topping?
What’s wrong with a bit of butter?
Tony Donnelly, @ 11.19 What about the ‘educated fans’ in Ireland, England, Canada, Australia etc On these pages
Awe aye, them too :)
Does anyone know what the information about Glib & Shameless from Police Scotland that was referred to in yesterday’s court case might be ?
My friends in Celtic,
We have heard many, many times on here about supporters asking, maybe demanding that they need certain conditions to be met, prior to going back to Parkhead.
How is it possible to meet all the conditions required for all the conditional Celtic supporters. ?
HH.
ERNIE LYNCH on 29TH APRIL 2016 11:48 AM
No but I did find out certificate from SARS is essentially meaningless, as
a) the one referenced is for companies rather than individuals and
b) even if he had the one for individuals it doesn’t have any regard for criminal convictions
As we head into tomorrow, where we can win 5 IAR for only the 3rd time in our 128 year history, most on here want to play politics.Their egos the size of a hot air balloon. The Board,PL,take centre stage once again to them as they vent their spleen.Must be terrible to be like them.
To win the league was always a wonderful thing in the past.Following Celtic through the terrible years,we would have given anything to win it.When we eventually did,it was unbridled joy.I remember the great days.Walking back from Easter RD,a couple of times, the street jammed,a sea of green, celebrating. The unforgettable 4_2 game. The Buzz Bombs last minute winner at Motherwell to start us off on the 9.A couple of titles we ground out, none more so than the 86 season, and the unimaginable joy of that day.Even in the 9 IAR,we ground out the title on occasions, but every one was savoured, and looked forward to with glee.
We had terrible Boards back then.Clueless, would be a kind description of them.Mattered nothing to us.We supported Celtic.
Now,I really am sad to say,the present mob of supposed Celtic fans, are a pale parody.A whinging shower full of entitlement, and angst.Like spoilt brats. The Internet has made them the font of all knowledge and wisdom. They can run Celtic, they can manage the team, without really knowing anything. The joy I grew up with of just going to see Celtic play has left their lives.
I pity them.
