  1. A big well done to Mr Greenman.

    Almost single handedly he has raised the profile of the fox, in particular, the urban fox.

    He has dispelled the hatred, fear, myths and rumours that foxism entails.

    They are not a menace, they are in fact our waste disposal experts. They cleverly regulate their own populations and most importantly; they don’t kill for fun, unlike the toffs who hunt them.

    I have even witnessed them strutting their stuff through the Parkhead gates.

    HH to the cunning ones.

    If you are looking in – said it would be over by stumps on Saturday – organisers will not be happy missing Sunday takings

    Check out the picture of Neil Lennon the beeb use on their footie page…why that one? They have hundreds from which to choose…hateful people…

    “Jon Daly says sacked head coach Ian Cathro did not have Hearts fit enough”

    Hang on a minute, is this the same Jon Daly who had a go at BR for breaking the unwritten rules about not criticising other managers? Surely not.”

    A very good point, Mea Culpa. So obvious I missed it ! Will that be the same excuse for the MSSM `s failure to bring this to the attention of their readers?

    ( I am assuming they haven`t reported it. Anyone? )

  5. I asked the other day but does anyone know an A. Cowan who sits in the North Stand Lower ( Jungle) ?

  6. Re Mea Culpa`s post:

    In fact, if I remember correctly, Brendan was actually offering support for Ian Cathro but was, if anything, being critical of Hearts.

    Cheerio for now.

  7. Good morning, friends.

    Loving this from St Johnstone (official tweet), paticularly the tongue in cheek hashtag at the end…

    Next Saturday we travel to @celticfc for a top of the table clash against the formidable current champs #titledecider

    that title decider with saint johnstone only has 200 seats left to purchase,

    Could we come out of this transfer window having spent less than we got in?

    This morning sees Simunovic linked to a £10m transfer to Burnley and Sviatchenko going to Copenhagen for £2.7m.

    Oh and Spurs know about Tierney and eh they might make a bid should they lose their current left back.

    The fees for any of the centre backs are far too low. When you hear that Man City will bid up to £24m for Johnny Evans and some unknown Middlesborough centre half you need to question £10m never mind 2.7m. I actually like Sviatchenko and can’t really get why he is cast as second or 3rd choice. I also like the comfort of him having played in the Champions League whereas any new guy probably will not.

    With VVD likely to go we can almost count on the income. We have spent what? 6m so far with a reported 1.3m on a further loan of Paddy Roberts. I can’t see us spending another 7m so we will stick to our normal spend levels this year.

    I also suspect there is a big bid coming for Griff.

    Sviatchenko lacks pace and is not so good in the air.

    A nice ghuy and a decent defender, but no more in my opinion.

    Anyone looking for a new scapegoat?

     Paddy Roberts is pish in the air!

    ==%=====%%==

    I’ve never seen Simunovic tackle Paddy so I’m holding off judgement on that one. :)

  13. Nico says they could lose all 4 Celtic games and still win the league !!!!!!!!!!!So says The Sunday Post.

    So that at the moment would be a 17 point gap.Instead of stopping the interview there and then,phoning the nearest Asylum to have him committed,the intrepid hack then lets him read out the prepared statement from Jabba,on just how big a club the Monkeys are.

    Their desperation is palpable.

    I’m lapping it up. Never enjoyed Traynor’s pish so much in my life.

    Had to laugh at Phil yesterday. He suggests the reason Pena wasn’t playing yesterday was due to pissing a fatness test.

    Superb!

    They are a laughing stock.

    Sometimes, when I read quotes attributed to Pedro, I think Jabba is actually on our side.

    The man is a fool being led by the nose.

    After this gig he will be unemployable.

  16. I thought wee Benyu was terrific yesterday.Lovely awareness,played many delightful one_twos,and linked up really well.This time next season with BRs coaching,I have a feeling we could see a Nakamura tribute act at Celtic Park.A very big talent at 18 years of age.

    Ajer looks the best prospect I have seen in years to eventually become our No 1 CH.The boy has the lot.

    A massive season for Anthony Ralston.Keep progressing he will be our RB next year.Needs to improve on his crossing a bit.Not so muchcrossing,the decision on when to attempt one.

    What a squad we have.Jaw dropping.

    I agree!

    It makes me wonder at the amount of great young players we let slip through our fingers because they never got a run in the first team.

    Brendan is sowing no fear in picking them.

    Also with Johnson and Aitchison champing at the bit the future does indeed look green and white

    Just utilising squad in the best way he can for as long as we are still involved in european competition…………thereafter minimal introduction of youngsters/fringe players.

    If out much-loved Poet Laureate is lurking,please can you repost it?

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    “The famous Rangers Iron Curtain of the 1940s derived from the emphasis on physical strength which Struth had developed in the previous decades. Another potent factor was they were all Protestants, to a man (with suspicions over one or two). And it mattered, deeply. Hardly an eyebrow was raised in Scottish society about this exclusivity during the Struth reign. People largely acquiesced as simply a fact of life. And Struth himself, with a penchant for made-to-measure three-piece suits, a stern countenance and a master of moral rebuke, seemed to be the epitome of the Presbyterian High Tory for whom the tugging of the forelock was expected in an orderly, unchanging society.
    “Certainly people from both sides of the divide had a high regard for him as a man of principle, including Paddy Travers of Clyde, a Catholic with whom Struth had holidayed on the Isle of Man. And, ironically, there was a great bond between the man who effectively brought Stein to Parkhead, Jimmy Gribben the Celtic trainer, for whom Struth kept a “wee hauf” at Ibrox any time Celtic played there.
    “At that time he was not being forced to engage himself with the highly dubious morality of valuing people of another religion as not fit for purpose. With ample Protestant talent available to him, on the principle of “If it ain’t broke, why fix it?”, life simply rolled on.
    “That is why the Struth legacy contains a crucial paradox for the modern Rangers. It can be interpreted in two ways. Without doubt the triumphs, the longevity, the production of great players, all point to a man of distinction and talent. On the other hand, from the baseline of supremacy and triumphalism set, he bequeathed the club a dilemma. The temptation to maintain the tradition was initially overpowering. Waddell and Wallace in the 1970s and 1980s began to see their recruitment options diminishing but were shackled by their own personal inclinations.”
  24. Thought KA had a good game yesterday.
    Seems to be progressing well in his move to CB.
    Big, strong, mobile and with a sense of vision — he should be able to take us to the next level in a couple of years. No issues for me if he has to play on Tuesday — it is experience that would suit him well.
    Can’t believe some of the comments about him on KDS regarding a supposed lack of pace. Bonkers analysis in the extreme that seems to be based on his nationality and not his performance.
    For the record AR is still a bit raw.
    Big improvement over the past 12 months but still a lot of work to do.
    Our shape and the amount of lateral passing did not help.
    However he needs more time to develop.
    Asking too much too soon.
  27. a little episode last night has got me thinking.
    I was driving past 2 of the local loyal supporters around 9 last night on way to pick up a pizza.
    One is much older than me, a retiree lives round the corner. The other lives in the opposite direction. Both very well oiled, they are doing that drunk thing of holding each others shoulders at arms length while spouting loud nonsense. Worse for wear doesn’t quite describe it.
    After a wait, I gets the food, drive home I pass the younger one, who now has his dug out with him. He looks forlorn, vacant, standing in the field, looking out to the distance, puffing a fag, but looking dejected, his blue polo shirt half in half out, unsteady on his feet. I know him just enough, so i gave him a wee toot on the horn. Not to gloat, just to acknowledge him (honest hahaah). He turns round, that way your expecting to see a friend, he glowers at me, a fleeting moment of recognition, his face contorts, he looks away, i swear i thought he was going to burst out crying.
    I gets home, i pass the older yin on the path, he has to go by my house just as i get to the driveway. Resplendent in a retro rangers 1980 trackie top, probably had it as long as that, he is very wobbly on his feet, the classic, fews steps forward, now one back. He sees me ahead, and in almost a second, straightens himself up. Standing tall, big breaths, he takes his umbrella and holds it across his body, handle down , tip up, like a band stick, he tries to get in step to march past. I gave him a wee look, he tries not to look at me, and to concentrate on looking ahead, but he glances, and i see a tremble on his lips, his superiority being let down by the ridiculous reality.
    It got me thinking, their body language, those teary eyes and quivering lips, have they been told something, do they know something, is their bi-weekly defiance going to end ? Has the masonic penny dropped ?
    or maybe its just simply league challenge over after 3 games, a catholic mass attending manager, and they were very drunk.
