It has been an emotionally charged week for the players and focus around the club will be on weighty matters of history, of what we are all about. You can be sure, however, that Derek McInnes and his Aberdeen players have only one thing on their minds.
Aberdeen can win the Scottish Cup on Saturday. They need to play at their very best, and will need Celtic to perform as they did earlier in the competition against St Mirren, but 90 minutes passes quickly at Hampden, and you and I both know to take nothing for granted.
No one is going to drink in the celebrations of 1967 more than me, but we have won only two trebles since then. The current team deserve every inch of preparation possible. They are already one of the great Celtic teams, with an undefeated treble they can look the Lisbon Lions straight in the eye.

The Lions were paraded on a coal lorry when they reached Celtic Park on 26 May 1967. We have a coal lorry, we have the Lions. This will be an incredible event. There’s also a live band.

I’m sure Brendan will have the players completely focussed for Saturday. I expect Celtic to show a high level of intensity in the Cup Final, as I believe Brendan and the players really, really want this.
Let’s face it, this season could be the absolute pinnacle of some of the players’ careers.

JAMESGANG…I have to disagree mate, and here’s why….
a) i don’t receive “Healthcare”.
b) I usually don’t start “Accidental Fires”…and any I do come across any, I tend to throw a bucket of water over it, without much cost to the Tax Payer, cos I pay Council Tax.
c) I have no dealings with “Earnings”…lost or otherwise.
d) I am certainly NOT “Productive”, so that.s that wan booted oot the park.
e) “Chronic Illness”, now I will give you that one, so therefore since I have paid Income Tax on Beer and Tobacco for approx 47 years….not including ALL the Income Tax on any income…by my arithmetic…Any Brit Government MUST owe me money ?
As I see it, any Taxes that I pay on Beer and Tobacco, has nothing to do with “Helping Society”, all I have to concern myself is ……myself.

Pilgrims, the Cervejeria Trindade up high in the Bairro Alto, is worth a visit for drink/food, and a great atmosphere in a former monastery.
Beer sold in litre glasses, and they have a dark beer (cerveja preta) there. Funicular at Praça Restauradores takes you up to some great views before you get to the Trindade.

What a great day on the drink yesterday…much hilarity with Oldtim holding centre stage and both of us tanning the port here in Lisbon.
Many daft things..me leaving my phone in the taxi..the driver bringing it back because he loves Celtic he wouldn’t take a tip but came for a beer. Malorbhoy asking me why his safe wasn’t working in his room..eh because it’s the electric box!!…pog eating big an tearnans dinner when he was blootered despite him saying he wisnae hungry..n me n Oldtim driving about in a tuk tuk singing Celtic songs..there’s probably a lot more but too pished to remember. Ding ding round 2.

Police Scotland says it is carrying out enquiries after flares were lit during Celtic’s weekend win over Hearts.
A section of the home crowd unfurled a huge banner and lit flares in the 67th minute, in tribute to the 50th anniversary of their 1967 European Cup win.
A Police Scotland statement read: “We can confirm that enquiries are being carried out following the Celtic v Hearts game at Celtic Park on Sunday 21 May 2017 where pyrotechnic devices were set off during the match.

Presumably, at the end of the trial period, some sort of licence/safety certificate will have to be issued to allow the safe standing section to become permanent, or even be extended.
