  1. The only thing I’ve seen that’s more pathetic than last night’s performance is the fear of Sevco on here. Laughable.

  2. GlassTwoThirdsFull on

The number of posts having a go at Ronny for taking Commons off has now exceeded the number for having a go at him for NOT taking Commons off in the SC semi.

    Who’d be a manager…..?

  3. Cults – I was going to add in that caveat after I typed that, as a simple soul who supports from afar – a win’s everything as far as I’m concerned. Period.

My point was in reference to the sleekit(s) who always make-merry when calamity befalls, but contribute nuthun when the team does well.

    Is he a footballer?

If yes is he a defender?

He looks like a great athlete to me. I’m not blaming him. He plays where he’s asked to play.

I wouldn’t ask him to play but if I had to Id push him in to midfield.

I can’t understand the preoccopation of some folk on here with the huns. They died and their illegitimate offspring are heading the same way. Yes we have big problems but the huns, dead or otherwise ain’t one of them!

  7. I don’t fear Sevco. They’re ruined.

But we are on a steep slope downwards. Not so long ago we were confident of doing well in a CL group, and on the edge of establishing ourselves as a last-16 team.

I cringe when I watch the CL now. We are a million miles away from most of those teams.

A win was definitely everything last night. To be fair I’m a very bad loser and tend to rant when we lose more than I celebrate success.

We will win SPFL but I think as Celtic fans we want to win in style. To be honest if we play well and lose I can just about accept it.

What’s happening in Europe now is that we are losing and deservedly so as the football is rubbish. Some on here pushing the hope of us still qualifying – right now On the basis of performances in Europe over the last 2 years Id say that is highly optimistic.

  9. My friends in Celtic,

We can analyse management and players individualist performances till the cows come home. And both can be proven culpable for another inept display.

But if Scotish football at this moment does not equip us to play in any other theater other than domestic competition, then what will be our medium to long term future when many of our domestic competitors go part time.

No fantastic infrastructure, high tech academy, bigger budget or a change of management will halt the inevitable decline and downsizing.

Scottish football is the problem, we can never fulfil our potential by continuing to stagnate in this environment.

  10. Big Pierres 2 front teeth on

We need to take action and stop talking about how annoyed we are about the heart being ripped out of our club. The usuals are quite happy when nights like last night happen to feel vindicated about their hate of the “bored” but Celtic fc hierarchy don’t read the pish spouted on here so it’s pointless. Any heads of fans groups or associations need to get things happening to protest against what’s no longer acceptable

  11. Funny how the manager took no responsibility himself, everyone else’s fault !

My only issue with the Commons fall out is it again gets him off the hook and the opportunity to talk about something else.

  12. Supporters venting their annoyance isn’t a problem.

Playing like a pub team with no heart…is.

My ranting or moaning isn’t the problem.

Its how poor the team are…that is the problem.

Stop blaming supporters…look at the players and management.

No fecking wonder I’m ranting….I don’t want to see a Celtic team play like that.

“I posted earlier that I spoke to a board member of the club a wee while ago who was mystified as to what the plan was for the club going forward. This is a member of the board, not a kept-int-the-dark fan like us – See more at: http://www.celticquicknews.co.uk/molde-v-celtic-live-updates/comment-page-35/#comments

That comment is worrying, but accurately reflects what we are seeing.

I gave up my season ticket a couple of years ago, after only managing to get up for 3 games in an entire season, due to a combination of work commitments and rearranged fixtures. At least that’s what I thought I was giving up for, but my son asked me if I would have given up had it been the Henk side that was still playing, and the honest answer is that I probably wouldn’t. So it was probably more to do with the standard of performances than the logistics. As most on here who know me personally would tell you, my other passion away from Celtic is the horse racing. I found I had more time to get around the tracks when my weekends were not taken up by travelling up and down the Car park otherwise known as the M6.

It has taken a couple of seasons out for me to discover what I probably already knew though. You never lose your passion for the hoops regardless of how bad things seem. What does happen though, or certainly did for me, is you start to develop a very unhealthy and worrying hate for those you hold responsible for the failures of the club. By failure, I don’t mean not winning every trophy, but failure in the respect you see a deterioration of standards by some who seem to be rather handsomely rewarded for failure. Peter Lawell is failing, and being rewarded for failure, and nobody will convince me otherwise. Not him, not Paul 67, no one. If the board member you referred to earlier has the same concerns, yet we don’t see changes, where is this going to lead? I posted here a couple of months ago that failure to invest now in the correct areas will lead to further decline, and will ultimately cost more to put right. Regardless of what opinion many others will hold, a balance sheet of a negative £15m would probably suggest that we can start to turn the corner, IF, it’s well spent money.

The league that we play in which is often mooted as the reason we cannot progress, is in fact the league that gives us a chance to get out of this mess. We have a chance every single year to get to the money spinning CL. The EPL thing is a crock of shit that ain’t ever going to happen. The CL is presented to us every single season as the means to the end we want. This continual balancing of the books, ( every penny we bring in is spent on the team) is absolute drivel. ) The team get what’s left after the pockets of non playing staff are filled to overflowing.

We need to go into the red now with a 3-4 year plan that will see us reap the rewards. Get an experienced manager in NOW with the tactical nous to bring us in quality players. We don’t need £20 m players. We need players who will be able to be blended into a side capable of beating third rate Scandinavian teams who have a fraction of our resources. If PL cannot see that he needs hunted. If DD is not prepared to back that type of development, put his share up for sale and see if there any interested parties.

Despite my concerns, as I say, you never lose your love for Celtic. It’s impossible. I tried other things but you wake up and log straight in to get the hoops news. Last month I renewed. We took out 5 season books. Two for my grandchildren. They are excited beyond words, for they have no history as their reference point.

My hope for them is that this is the beginning of the great Celtic adventure and that those such as Peter Lawell in the privileged position he holds, recognises the responsibility he has to deliver the ‘dreams come true’ era for them that I was so fortunate to have experienced.

Sorry if this post is waffling and drifting all the place, it’s frustrating trying to express just how all of this affects me, but then you already know, for you’re all the very same!

  14. The whole plan needs changed.

The buy them young and cheap and sell them at a profit plan fails ,if your scouts fail to replace your better players with players of equal quality.

It also means that we lack experienced players to balance the team and help nurture the younger players.

The ideological coach and his ideological assistant are lacking in common sense and making poor management decisions.

We have to move back to concentrating on being a football team .

There is too much focus on trying to unearth a previously unseen diamond so that we can balance the books.

    We need some pragmatism.

    We are a football club.

The priority is to improve the first team.

Our current priority is generation of profit from player trading.

There needs to be a change at the very top.

But it is also plain to see that Ronnie & Johnny have to go.

I was slated months ago when I stated that there was unrest in the dressing room.

We it’s plain to see Ronnie & Johnny don’t have the respect of a couple of our better senior players.

Commons scored 30 goals before Ronnie & Johnny came.

Within a few shorts weeks he was out of favour.

Stokes scored 20+.same dropped story with him.

We were told they didn’t run enough, cover enough ground, work hard enough ,off the ball.

They didn’t fit the new high pressing game of Ronnie & Johnny.

That we were going to be stronger ,fitter and have more stamina.

Yet we lose winning leads and tire before our opponents do.

Quite often The team is not paced to last 90 mins ,and we blow out of steam after 40 mins.

Fenerbache,Killie away,Motherwell last week all spring to mind.

Where do Scott Allen and Nadir Cifchi improve the plan.

We sign players from a mediocre Dundee Utd side .

We sign players who have injury problems.

We sign strikers who don’t score enough goals.

The whole thing is rank rotten.

    We need a football manager.

One who will concentrate on improving the first team.

One who will build a team from the back and ensure there is also a stron spine to the team.

We need a manager who stands and falls by his own signings.

Players signed by committee isn’t working.

Look at Liverpool’s wasted multi millions on players signed by committee.

Dermot Desmond needs to step in.

Peter Lawell needs to make the changes or get of the pot.

I have been stating for years how much of a downward spiral we are in.

The attendances are shocking compared to 6 years ago.

Leadership comes from the very top.

Dermot ,where the feck are you?

  17. Cults – all fair points matey, as Celtic supporters we correctly anticipate and have come to expect a level of enjoyment from our matches.

Recently this has been sporadic, at best, but I like to think that the common (s)? thread we all have is a general degree of optimism that usually transcends reality.

There’s a huge difference between the genuine analytical constructive criticism of the Celtic supporter who can read the game………………

…….and the sleekit script of huns who can only read the record.

You expect to come on here and encapsulate MO’N’s tenure in light-grey Sunday, and no one to comment on such garbage?

Suppose you think of Jock Stein’s years in terms of the Partick Thistle league cup final too?

Rangers(1872-2012), in season 2004-5, according to you, “nae cheatin'”.

Unpaid tax bill, undisputed, for the illegal Discount Option Scheme; improperly registered players, which according to the rules should have meant a 3 point deduction for each match they played in that and other seasons, players they couldn’t have afforded without their cheating.

Yet we took the financially doped cheats to the last 5 minutes of that season, before going on to lift the Scottish Cup a week later.

As for MO’N, we’ll overlook the top 6 finishes he took Villa to (how they doin’ these days), but last time I looked he had just beaten the World Champions ( no transfer budget in International Football, of course), a result which gives his present team a shot at qualification for Euro 2016 in a play-off.

Don’t ever forget the humiliation of finishing 21 points behind Deidco in 2000 being turned around by 36 points to a 15 point winning margin in 2001, a Celtic manager seeing off a Rangers manager for the first time in 15 years. Only a great manager could have done this, and that’s what Martin O’Neill was for us.

Unlike you, I’ll cherish the best 5 years I’ve witnessed at Celtic Park since Stein, the titles, cups, return of European credibility, The green& whitewash, and Seville.

  23. Still shell shocked after last nights horror show, every one of our players under performed, the tactics were wrong from the start, we did what they wanted us to do, piled forward and allowed them to hit us on the break. Management team did nothing till game was almost over and when they did they hooked the wrong man. Commons himself then got in on the act by a totally unacceptable rant, Not to mention the pitch and conditions it was truly a night to forget, unfortunately though it will not be forgotten.

Ronnie and his Mgt. team will definitely be around until the group stage of the Europa is decided, there are a good few games to be played between now & then, we are in for a dramatic uncertain period.

  24. Twists n Turns.

I was flabbergasted when the comment was made, but he was deadly serious. Worrying times…

  25. Sean Thornton hope yer cousin Forbes is at peace now. Puts things in perspective.

So the tide is turning against our Viking. Checked out the score at work Celtic 72% possession 0-2 down. Apart from defending poorly we haven’t scored that many goals. It is not working. Something, don’t know what needs to change. We should be beating teams like Molde. Hail Hail

  26. We cannot go on like this….RD has failed.

Its torture to watch Celtic play like that.

Makes me sick to see a Celtic team with no heart and guts.

That’s not the Celtic I know.

    Pitiful last night…truly.

Collum ‘worst ref’ in Champions League, says ex-whistler

A FORMER FIFA referee has branded Willie Collum the worst official in the Champions League – and told him he should stick to wearing a kilt.

Ex-ref turned TV analyst Erman Toroglu made his comments after a fiery clash between Galatasaray and Benfica, during which Collum flashed eight yellows and angered both teams.

Toroglu added: “I have seen some bad refereeing performances in the Champions League but nothing compared to the Scotsman Collum.

“He wasn’t anti-Galatasaray or anti-Benfica – he was just very bad. He doesn’t seem to understand refereeing. He should stick to wearing a kilt rather than a referee’s uniform.”

Morning Bhoys well it is the morning after the night before.Ronny says we can still qualify from the group and he is correct but will we ? I dont think so we at the moment are a pale shadow of a good side.I believe there are several reasons why we are so poor for a start we havnt properly sorted out the defence after losing two of last seasons best players. The league we play in is very poor and does not help really to stretch our players and the management team are good at talking but poor at management and coaching in Europe we keep making the same errors in every game but the management fail to address it.I believe we must keep the current management team at least to the end of the Europa league group section.I also believe we should be looking at David Moyes or a manager of similar experience if we move Ronny and his staff on. H.H.

Kev talking pish as usual… Loves a Celtic defeat. Good on you kris commons!!! Someone had to say it!! No criticism of johansen, biggest imposter to wear the hoops in decades?!? Fucking clown that you are.

Don’t even recognise what’s left of my club now. We’re all pretty much unhappy with the custodians so what collectively are we going to do about it???

    _________________________________________

To upset the established order at CP….a little anarchy is needed.

The custodians are needing their collective bluffs called.

How do Celtic supporters get rid of the custodians?

    Take them on.

Let them know that, the only way that ‘your’ money will be going into the club will be, in exchange for the custodians share-holding……ie: control of ‘you’ club!

Things will be a little messy to begin but, the sun will shine through and, most importantly…Celtic FC will be owned / controlled by Celtic Supporters(even me).

A steely resolve is required….dont be sidetracked / sucke-in by convenient stories about the deat of the huns being leaked…sort Celtic, then laff at the huns.

No more PLC….time to move on.

  32. Tactics ? SPL total attack, teams play only one up front against us. Europe, forbid Izzy ( if he continues to play him) and Lustig from going beyond half way line. Worked successfully against Quaranburg.

  33. So if we beat Molde at home, we’ll at worst be 2 points off top spot with 2 games to go – 1 of which is at home.. Definitely toys out the pram time.
