NEW BHOY IN OP SETBACK

NEW BHOY Lewis Morgan is poised to sit out Celtic’s Champions League qualification campaign after undergoing a knee operation.

The Hoops winger was a 77th-minute substitute in the 3-0 win over Alashkert in Armenia last Tuesday.

However, the Scotland international was missing for the 3-0 midweek win in the return at Parkhead. It is believed the former St Mirren star underwent keyhole surgery to tidy up a knee problem on Monday.

It is also thought the procedure will not result in a long-term lay-off, but could involve four to five weeks on the sidelines.

Morgan joined the champions in a £300,000 deal in January, but was loaned back to the Paisley outfit to help with their successful promotion campaign.

The injury is  a setback to last season’s Championship Player of the Year who vowed to hit the ground running in his Parkhead career.
