Let’s be honest with each other, there’s a bit of a leap between our European performances in recent seasons and the standards of Champions League football. My expectations for this season’s tournament hasn’t seen me check out accommodation options in Cardiff in May.
With that in mind, if we’re going to fall short, let’s do it against genuine quality opposition, some of the best players and tactically organised teams in the business. Barcelona, Manchester City (think Pep, but with more money) and Borussia Monchengladbach will bring this to Glasgow over the next few months.
Over our 15 year Champions League lifespan, Celtic surprise on the upside more often against better teams than against relative minnows. The biggest disappointments came in Scandinavia, not Iberia.
When the group stage finishes in December, we will faced enormous challenges. Players will have stretched themselves to lengths they didn’t know existed. What we know for sure, is that none of the other three teams in our group will have wanted Celtic from Pot 4. This is a hard draw for everyone.

Sevco suffered playing on artificial Wallace
Aberdeen will be missing their main man , Johnny Hayes , tomorrow along with Kenny McLean .
Aberdeen have a few new players, Stockley and Burns, who we know little about . McInnes , I assume , will let them know about what the ref may let them away with.
Jackson Irvine scored his third goal in three games for Burton, tonight . Good luck to him. I like seeing our ex players do well if they move down the road. It reflects well on us.

I also wish Stef Jo all the very best, it’s a strange one for me, a couple of seasons ago he was unstoppable and seemed to pop,up here ther and everywhere mostly ending with the onion bag bulging, but I think he suffered a wee bit of burnout playing non stop with his previous club, then us then Norway in every blinking game……2yrs ago I think he would be a BR player but anyway, like yourself I wish him all the very best and unlike some he will leave a very good Celtic player in my mind

Gordon64, I didn’t say much on the flag issue in the run up to the game except that I would be clapping the Israeli team onto the park and that we were not at war with HBS.
What the GB did and the way they went about it has removed any doubt in mind that they were right to do it, and that any reservations I had were my reservations.
It’s the Green Brigade that justify that “more than a club” statement. It now belongs to them.
Arseholes like mat pastry are fighting a losing battle, the Celtic family have been humbled by the reaction to their stance and so should our officials and those of Uefa.
That is an astonishing amount of money that will do some good in the world and for once in recent years and show that we are more than a club.
Makes me proud to call myself a Celtic Supporter.

first post, longtime lurker.
I am looking for experiences in acquiring tickets for the away match in Barcelona.
I have booked flights and hotel for me and my 17 year old son (first continental away match for both of us, my last one was Old Trafford v Rapid Vienna so a bit rusty!).
I think it may ruin his day if we couldn’t get in.
Any guidance/signposting would be much appreciated.
