OH BHOY, BROONIE!

BRENDAN RODGERS has joked Scott Brown is planning on having his own five-a-side team after the Celtic skipper became a dad for the third time.

The Hoops boss rested the 31-year-old midfielder from the line-up that beat Ross County 4-0 in Dingwall last night.

And Rodgers revealed it was because his onfield leader and wife Lisa were celebrating the birth of their third son on Tuesday.
unspecified-54The Irishman said: “I gave a rest to Scott after he became a father again for the third time.

“He is getting together his wee five-a-side football team. That is three boys he’s got now. He wanted to come up here with the squad, but I said: ‘Listen, look after your wife. Family is more important than football’.“It is nice for him to get a breather. He is going to go into the next game super fit and fresh and strong and now a father of three.”

Brown’s latest boy’s name has yet to be revealed, but he has joined a growing family that already includes five-year-old Shay and Sonny, three.

The skipper could put his feet up at home while Patrick Roberts, Stuart Armstrong, Scott Sinclair and Moussa Dembele scored the goals that gave the champions a victory in the Highlands and opened up a seven-point gap over Aberdeen.

Brown will be back in his usual place when Rodgers’ men take on the Dons at Pittodrie on Saturday.
Talking of 5 a side teams and Celtic captains. This evening former Celtic skipper Andy Lynch is making his comeback at the CQN 5s (it’s actually 6 a side tonight) and we’ll let you know how he gets on!
