Partick Thistle game doesn’t register

474

While captain Scott Brown will return to first team action this week, with the league encounter with Aberdeen out of the way, Brendan Rodgers will almost certainly continue to rest players ahead of the teams next meeting in the Scottish Cup Final.

Getting it right for Hampden is only one aspect the manager will be concerned about. Celtic’s first Champions League qualification round starts eight weeks tomorrow, between now and then the entire squad has to get their annual rest period and a significant portion of preseason. Several will also be on international duty four weeks from now.

While you and I want to see out the league programme undefeated, it is more important players are rested for the various cup finals which take place between now and the end of August. The Partick Thistle game on Thursday doesn’t register on what is important.

Celtic FC Foundation

Six days from now, while you are watching Celtic skelp Hearts, I’ll be running my first marathon, in aid of the Celtic Foundation.  I’m now in mild panic about what lies ahead, but on this Anniversary month, it’s important that we pay more than lip service to what being a Celtic supporter is all about.

If you are able to, please support the Foundation here.  If you are unable to, perhaps you know the Hail Mary…….

Thank you for the unbelievable support I’ve received so far.  There will be a time on Sunday when it will fuel the legs.

To be fair that would be my experience in Letterkenny(particularly in the Wolfetone bar as one might expect) but not in Dublin.

I very much doubt that L̶e̶n̶n̶o̶n̶ Neil Francis Lennon / Lenny / Neilly dances to anyones tune. I could quite easily have said ‘felt compelled to’. I don’t think him planting the trophy in front of the Green Brigade was an apology, and it certainly wasn’t an endorsement of IRA songs, mainly because the Green Brigade never sang any IRA songs at home games to be endorsed. In fact I can’t recall hearing any at Celtic Park for a long time prior to the St. Johnstone game last week. I guarantee it didn’t go unnoticed in the boardroom, if it continues it may put in jeopardy the future of the standing section, when the team could really do with us expanding it as 99.99999% of the time they have been absolutely brilliant.

I’ll answer your question even though you ignore mine. I bring it up because there is a precedent of a Northern Irish Celtic manager speaking out against IRA songs. Was there any evidence that L̶e̶n̶n̶o̶n̶ Neil Francis disapproved of rebel songs prior to him speaking out against them?

  5. IMO doesent matter who the ref is for the final the cream should rise to the top, and that’s up to us, we have it in the locker, this clown will let the heavy stuff go a don’t have a problem with that we are capable of beating that, we got bigger and better teams to come later nest season. And Brendan and these players know the score.

So,Madden appointed Aberdeen utility player for the final, wee bit of extra tactical work for Brendan to address.

Hope the whistling william enjoys being in the middle of a Celtic treble being won.

My tuppence worth on the Dons Huns for next season. The sheep are going to lose players that will weaken them so will need to find comparable replacements, something they’ve already started with the ICT player. They have a steady, sensible board and a team that’s been consistent for 3-4 years, and no delusional sense of entitlement.

The huns are rank rotten and need a complete overhaul but have no money, have a shambolic board and a mad manager who thinks he’s Tiago Bond.

    My money’s on the sheep.

Different strokes for different folks –

Rubentus have announced that if they win this season’s Serie A title ,there will be no public celebration to mark the occasion ..Seems they will wait till after Cardiff to decide whether it’s been a good season or not .

On the other hand — Napoli Ultras will be holding a funeral parade to mark another possible Serie A title going down down the plug . Killed by draws v the likes of Palermo and Pescara . Best team in Serie A by a mile but their tendency to play what Italian football fans call ” academic football ” — ( beautiful but lacking a cutting edge ) costs them dearly

The Level5 propaganda machine is actively trying to destabilise Aberdeen isn’t there a game coming up?

Some of their out of contract players will resign, but Sevco need the publicity meantime with the phoney budget that can only afford Bosmans they’ll link them to all manner of player but the key is ‘out of contract’.

You don’t have great hearing then; “The Broad Black Brimmer”; “Merry Ploughboy”; “Roll of Honour”; “Aiden Macanespie”; “The Snipers Promise” to name but a few.

I know because I am in the North Curve and they are sung most home matches as well as away matches (Aiden Macanespie less so than the others).

Even Grace is a song in support of IRA martyrs. Sean South is also another regular.

Do you think Level5 and SMSM will ever wake up to the fact their mawkish, fawning behaviour towards all thing hun is actually counter productive? Are they all really THAT dumb?

Every propaganda piece they scribble just makes me think,’the plot thinnens’.

Very enjoyable stuff for this tim. ;))
