PODOLSKI COULD FACE HOOPS

INTER MILAN tonight confirmed the loan move of Arsenal winger Lukas Podolski.

And the German international could now face Celtic in the Europa League last 32 clash next month.

The player has agreed a temporary move until the end of the season after undergoing a medical.

Podolski has scored 31 goals in 82 games since joining the Gunners from Cologne in 2012.

But he has started only two games this season after the summer arrivals of Barcelona’s Alexis Sanchez and Manchester United’s Danny Welbeck.

Podolsk linked up with his new Italian team-mates in training for the first time today.

San Siro boss Roberto Mancini said: “He is experienced and has a wonderful career behind him.
“He will help us and is not at the end of his career.”

There are doubts the 29-year-old believes he will return to Arsene Wenger’s team.

He posted a message to his Instagram account that revealed: “I can’t express in words my gratitude towards Arsenal fans for all they have done for me in my years in London!

“Please know my heart always holds a place for you. I’ve loved every minute playing for Arsenal and I hope I have left my mark on the club and fans alike.
“Hopefully, we shall meet again!”
