I’ve just watched the highlights again. Forrest was involved in a lot of good Celtic play. It was his great pass that set Armstrong for the chance just before we scored.
On another we could have scored 6 or 7. A great team performance, pass marks for everyone, in my opinion.
……………………
Agree with you totally. Jamesie ran at them time and again in that second half and put them under a lot of pressure. He caused them to scramble about as they didn’t know if he would pass or shoot. He was brave enough to have 3 attempts at goal and delivered that sublime pass to Armstrong which Gilks did well to save with his foot. He was anything but rank.

I , too ,was at that game.
Did we play the second half with ten men? No subs in those days.My memory is hazy on that.
What I do remember is going to the bogs located opposite the main stand at half time .
On emerging , I was greeted by a marvellous goal by wee Willie Henderson , which made it three , I think.
Had to wend my disconsolate way behind the mob of huns singing about being up to their knees in my blood.
A really unhappy day for a young Tim.

Hi CQNERS
Isn’t it great to land in another Cup Final despite the very best efforts of Masonic officials. I couldn’t watch the game today as I am currently in a hospital in Harrow. Nothing serious…pneumonia.
I listened to the match on Sportsound with back up on CQN. Thank you all contributors.
Anyway on reading back I’ve been intrigued by the “Pat Crerand Story”
My recollection with subsequent add ons from well meaning guys in the know was that Paddy and Slim Jim Baxter spent Hogmanay in the Gorbals. Slim Jim fancied Paddy’s sister and at some point Paddy and Baxter ended up sozzled and found up the close of the Hi Hi Bar in Crown St in the ealy hours of New Years Day. (This is where it gets a bit fuzzy)
I went to the game at Ibrox with an early kick off 1 o’clock I think. I didn’t think Celtic had played too badly up to half time but we’re a goal down. As mentioned by another poster Sean Fallow read the riot act at half time and Paddy was quick to react by tossing his jersey at him telling him to go out and do better. Paddy did come out for the second half and I believe he got in the way of a Harold Davis shot which looped over Celtic ‘ s keeper who was probably big Frank Haffey. Anyhow Paddy never kicked another ball for Celtic and Bob Kelly told him he was being sold to Manchester United. The story went that Paddy was in tears but he was sold for £62,000 in February. It was a very sad day for me and Celtic but Kelly wouldn’t relent and off the bold Paddy had to go.
This account may or may not be true but I heard it repeated many times since then and it does have a wee ring of truth about it.
Celtic ‘ s loss was United ‘s gain.
Hail Hail you magnificent Celtic Supporters.
