Thanks Macjay. I will repost later on today and thanks for passing on. I don’t want to abuse Paul’s hospitality but if I can get some more Tims contributing that would be fantastic. at the moment we are outnumbered despite me saying it has a Celtic focus. Ta again.

`s good to be a Tim.

  6. Well no need for any more posts highlighting the OBaF Act document, the deadline passed at 11:45pm last night.

Many, many thanks to all of you who took the time to complete it.

Supporting your team is not a crime.

  7. OneMalloy – good to catch up, and a visit to a hostelry may be a good idea! Had to rush at the end to go and get a supporters bus otherwise it was a walk home that would see me traverse Bridgeton!

Almore – good to catch up again! You can now calls yourself as a regular in Coias!

    There may be some hangovering.

  10. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Jobo, I have just been out. It’s quite nippy outside.

I hope you had a great time in Cala D’or.

Us beating sevco on your return would have been a nice welcome on your return.

  11. Great feeling going off to work this morning knowing we have completely outplayed that lot twice this season and are in the cup final at the end of November. I’m heading over from Ireland for the game Bhoys so any help locating two tickets would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. HH

  12. Good morning CQN, just watched this mornings highlights programme on BT Sport, it really was a 1 nil hammering :))

I love that big Sutton calls out the “Sleekit” Thomson at every turn.

    HH

  13. I watched 87 minutes of the match yesterday on my mobile at Glasgow airport and then on the plane. The point at which I really had to switch off my phone, sir, when the cabin doors shut was just as Moussa jumped into the crowd – lovely. I then had to wait about an hour to find out if we had seen out the remaining minutes, although to be honest, I wasn’t really too stressed. I’m struggling to remember many occasions where Sevco looked a threat.

Compare that with the positive noises coming out of the Sevco players… You’d think they had blacked out for the entire match and were just told what happened. I’m quite happy with that though, as for the next match against them their fans will be full of expectation that the gap will officially be closed. It’s quite a talent to be able to blow smoke up yer own @ss…

  14. Morning all.

Youngest daughter walked to school, back in bed for an hour, reading as much as I can about the 1.0 thumping.

Pick up daughter at 3, wife home about 4 from Buddhist retreat, so plenty of time for a visit to Costa and to chill.

    This is the life.

    Hail Hail

  15. Onemalloy

    A 1-0 hammering indeed.

Was working from memory earlier, and given my memory isn’t the best I recalled, in no particular order:

    Goal . 1

    Disallowed goal. 2.

    Rogic gift . 3

    Sinclair clean through 4.

    As above . 5

    Leigh clean through 6

    Armstrong good chance 7

    Free kick off bar 8.

They were all better than half chances.

Yep. The gap is closing right enough!!

  16. Macjay at 7.07. I take your point. I have too much respect for Paul and this site ( I have primarily been a lurker for about ten years) to try to compete with CQN.

I started the blog a couple of months ago as I watch the games with my sons and it is hard to get conversations with people about the games in Australia, save for a couple of Celtic minded people I know. I did not post on CQN initially as I wasn’t sure if I was going to do the blog on an ongoing basis.

I am just a Tim with an opinion and would in no way whatsoever attempt to compete with this amazing online community.

If I have been out of line in any way and Paul asked me not to mention my blog I would completely accept and respect this decision. I hope this clarifies. Hail Hail

    I like your thinking!

I said after about 30 minutes that the huns had run their course, gonna be backs to the wall and hope for a break.

They nearly got one too,but overall a constant procession towards their goal.

Well-pleased with the manner of the win, bossed them for the vast majority of the game.

I can’t speak for PAUL67,but I expect you’ll be fine. Plenty of links to other sites are provided on here.

There even used to be some to certain hun sites till the swearies got too much for us!

  19. Saint Stivs says SACK THE BOARD on

I too have watched the match again.

I was harsh on James Forrest at the match, decision making again, not releasing the ball to better placed players. However on the highlights, he did work hard and get involved in pinching the ball a few times.

Also, we need to find a way of playing Griff. He is too good a footballer to be on the bench. When he comes on he is all energy, and clever with it. It was a brilliant pass for the goal, and the turn to take out 2 defenders.

    Just let him play.

    PS.

Some other team will give 2nd Rangers a hammering this season. They really are a poor lot. The goalie made a lot of saves yesterday, and is getting a lot of plaudits for it, however he was very lucky on a few of them. He will throw a few in if at some point. Its good as well they fell to 5th at the weekend. 11 goals in 9 league games. They are crap.

  20. Thomson employed the “blow the whistle at all Celtic corners” routine an established historical staple of the SFA referee against us.

Stewart Dougall had it timed to perfection, Dallas taught him, and Thomson was disallowing any header let along Erik’s perfect nod.

  21. Saint Stivs says SACK THE BOARD on

how does the stats compare with the 1-0 humping and the 2-2 draw last season ?

  22. BOBBY MURDOCH'S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS on

    BOURNESOUPRECIPE

Is that the same Moussa Dembele who was desperate to break his goal drought after about four games-according to a certain rag,at least.

  23. What was especially pleasing about yesterday’s result was that another route to sneak into Europe (and any potential revenue or investment) was firmly slammed in their faces.

  24. STAYINGUPLATE….Congrats on your blog. I’ll give it a read for sure.

Don’t be concerned about ‘competing’ with CQN. If you end up stealing all the readers from here, it will be because you have produced a better product.

I think Paul and his team produce good articles. To add value to readers, you might want to consider taking a different slant on some issues.

Where there is room to do something different, it is in how you plan to construct your blog. CQN, as you know, is one big bucket of chat. Like a noisy pub with 50 different conversations going on at the same time, and at the same volume. This mornings chat is great. Virtually everything is about yesterday’s game. I wanted to read people’s views ands here they are, easy to access, interrupted by there odd weather report. A bit like a radio show with no adverts.

However, this only seems to happen after a game like yesterdays. The rest of the time, it is difficult to follow, as folk post on dozens of things at the same time. This is not meant as a criticism. It is what it is. It works for those still here, but not for those of us who have largely moved on.

All of which to say, there is a market (I think) for a blog that is constructed in threads. Or rooms. More broadly put, if you produce a mirror of CQN, people will likely stay with what they know. If you offer something a bit different, you might get a bit of traction.

Beyond that, you may want to think about a thread/room/focus on overseas supporters. I live in Canada and have visited a few overseas CSC’s (including Australian CSC’s). We face different issues from those who live in Scotland.

Anyway, I’ll away now. All the best with your blog.

  25. Next games for Celtic: Wednesday at Ross County, Saturday at Aberdeen (12:00 KO). Is there any point returning to Glasgow on Wednesday night?

Forget Almore’s cafe, the museum, the second tier on the main stand, the train station…

Just build a training ground up in the Cairngorms… Could we not buy Craigy Whyte’s old castle?

  26. Saint Stivs says SACK THE BOARD on

aye, not getting to the final has probably cost them £500k hardy har har.

winning it though doesnt do anything for Europe, no qualification route that way.

  27. A very Gooooood Morning CQN

Just a question, why would a team without 3 years of audited accounts get into Europe ?

  30. Thanks WeeRon. Definitely NOT trying to compete. I am just a Tim with a keyboard and decided to do the blog.It is really just my thoughts and opinions on Celtic and the games. The comments I do get are mostly from people I know and it has been fantastic to read some new comments from first time readers.

I take your point about the difficulties we face overseas when watching the Hoops. I am happy for folks just to read and share and if they leave a comment that is even better. Hail Hail
