I like Scott Brown and Leigh Griffiths’ reactions to our recent adversity. It says a lot about them. They both personalise responsibility for what happens next, this is an important part of recovery – and success.
A week ago I wrote that the League Cup semi against Ross County was the biggest game in the rest of our season, and that it wasn’t a game I’d bet on. It provided the toxicity cup football can generate, creating a crisis mentality which rolled into Aberdeen on Wednesday.
This psychological phenomenon has to end now. Feel free to put a date in June in the diary to get back to it. We are in a genuine league title contest, something you and I talked about as a great thing for Scottish football not so long ago. We have no God given right to be miles ahead of anyone. We are here because we’ve made mistakes and an opponent stepped up. Welcome to Celtic.
If you want to open an inquest when the patient catches a cold, knock yourself out, but I’m not up for it. If we want this title, we circle the wagons and give the manager and players the encouragement they need to get the job done (and, erm, that includes you, ‘Phyllis’). You can be sure Aberdeen fans will do nothing less.
Tomorrow the focus switches to Perth, where Aberdeen take on St Johnstone. They won their first 8 league games this season, but the wheels came off the tractor immediately after their most important victory away from home – at Tynecastle. Next up was a League Cup game against Hibs, the loss of which plunged them into a five-week chasm.
They are a team who get notoriously nervous just when they begin to think they are in with a chance. We’ll see what Tommy Wright does with them tomorrow.
Enjoy your football. Enjoy this league race, the challenge and the disappointments. Enjoy that thrill when a goal goes against Aberdeen, or the downer when they score. It will make the finale all the more rewarding, I promise you.

Without doubt Callum McGregor is innocent until proven guilty. Outwith that we should remember that DD is a fairly serious premediated offense which one can not just simply shrug off as a ‘mistake’. Far too many innocent people’s lives are destroyed by someone else’s ‘wee mistake’.

Maybe it’s my own fault because of idiots like me for listening but it’s actually pretty amusing, thankfully I realise they try to appease their audience and I definitely don’t take them serious but am banished to my room as the wee yin has her pal from school visiting so am not even allowed to watch the Man City game in the living room
Oglach – I wasn’t going to write an essay on it. I agree it’s a stupid, selfish, terrible mistake or thing to do. A lot of people will admit to having had a,couple of beers and done it themselves or been driving the morning after the night before when they knew they shouldn’t.
It’s wrong and I agree should not be written off. And punishment is appropriate – so too education and withholding judgement.

I haven’t read the reports on mcgregor but given he plays for Celtic the racist authorities will do all they can to damage him as much as possible.
I was not surprised but bemused at the evening times latest attack on Celtic supporters. It has form of course. Celtic as ever say nothing about these continual attacks on the support and by definition on the club itself.
But isn’t it more revealing that police Scotland go after Celtic fans for what is clearly a joke? At the same time in almost every post on follow follow their are racist references and threats. Why aren’t the rozzers going after them?

Leicester are fantastic, playing to strengths. The Mahrez goal was simply beautiful football, reminded me of the one Lubo stroked in at Ipox after sending the entire Orc back 4 the wrong way with one drop of the shoulder.
Camera showed McCulloch there, he looks gutted that his 10 men have got a replay.
