ROBERTSON A MATCH OFFICIAL FOR CELTIC SEMI

1

ROPEY referee Don Robertson will be a match official at Celtic’s Scottish Cup semi-final against Sevco Rangers on Sunday.

Robertson has also told a tabloid journalist that he will this week call Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers to apologise for costing the Champions two points yesterday by awarding a penalty to Ross County yesterday despite no Celtic player being anywhere near the dive.

The dreadful whistler is due to take his role as a second assistant to Willie Collum at Hampden and will be deployed behind one the goals.

Robertson kicked off mayhem near the end of the Hoops’ 2-2 draw against Ross County at Dingwall yesterday when he was conned into gifting an 88th-minute penalty-kick when cheating Alex Schalk dived without any sort of challenge from Erik Sviatchenko.

Liam Boyce slotted home the penalty and chaos ensued in injury time when Scott Brown, incensed by the absurd penalty call and being kicked by both Boyce and Schalk, launched into a tackle on the goalscorer and was immediately red carded.

With Collum the main man, Frank Connor and Douglas Ross will be on the lines and Robertson and Nick Walsh behind the goals. Craig Thomson is fourth official.

Book and T-shirt offer for £19.67 end Tuesday at midnight!
