RODGERS PRAISE FOR TEEN STAND-IN

0
BRENDAN RODGERS declared himself satisfied with Kristoffer Ajer’s display against his Norwegian countrymen in the goalless Champions League draw against Rosenborg at Parkhead last night.
The Celtic boss said: “It’s difficult, a young lad coming in at 19 to a big game like this. He acquitted himself well.”Kristoffer is only going to get better, he has the tools there and i believe, going forward, he can be a very good young player.”He just needs experience of playing and feeling the pressure of the big games.”

Rodgers, meanwhile, dismissed a move linking Erik Sviatchenko to Besiktas on a season long loan deal.

He said: “I’m not aware of anything. It’s speculation.”
The Irishman also played down the sight of a limping Scott Brown at the end of the game.
He added: “We’ll assess that over the next couple of days. But he’s a hardy boy.”
