SKIPPER COULD MISS HAMPDEN CLASH

SCOTT BROWN looks certain to miss Celtic’s Scottish Cup semi-final against Sevco Rangers after his ordering-off in the 2-2 draw with Ross County this afternoon.

The Hoops skipper is likely to miss the Hampden game a week today and could also miss out on the league meeting at Ibrox with a two-match ban likely to be handed down by the SFA.

Brown was red-carded after a lunge on Liam Boyce had referee Don Robertson reaching for the red card in injury time in Dingwall.

It came just moments after County were handed a ridiculous last-gasp penalty by the dreadful match official after Alex Schalk clearly cheated with a dive when there was clear daylight between him and Erik Sviatchenko.

Boyce netted the penalty and, with tempers flaring just moments after the restart, the striker was floored by Brown sparking a melee in the centre of the park.
The Hoops skipper was sent packing by Robertson and the Hoops will now be left with a decision to make whether they appeal the red card.

Brendan Rodgers said: “Scott was a bit late in the tackle and he was probably a bit frustrated with the referee.

“He has been late, but the talking point of the game was the penalty which was awful to take.”
