Statement leaves Newco exposed

446

Newco’s statement on their management team is worthy of some consideration:

“At a meeting with the management team’s representative earlier this week the Club were advised that Mr Warburton, Mr Weir and Mr McParland wished to resign their positions and leave the Club on condition that Rangers agreed to waive its rights to substantial compensation.”

A meeting with a representative of the management team, not with the manager, and not a resignation letter.

The club went on: “The Board urgently convened to consider the offer made on behalf of the management team and its ramifications and agreed to accept it and release the trio from the burden of compensation”.

If you agree to the terms of an offer made on behalf of someone, you really, really, need to get the signature of the individuals concerned. If you fail to get an agreement signed, you don’t have an agreement. If you don’t even appear to have a verbal agreement with your members of staff, you get on with your work as though nothing has happened.

They’d better hope Warburton, Weir and McParland get another job quickly, otherwise I predict another raft of court cases to be paid for.  This is a statement which suggests the authors have left themselves exposed.

Very few of the SPL clubs depend on thems .

Most are fiscal enough in planning not to depend on a ‘club” with huge overheads ,poor investment and a chairman with a criminal record.

The fix is in from the SFA to prevent any demotion to lower leagues .

The focus though if it goes any further tits up will be the role played by those who administer the game(the sfa) while failing comprehensively to keep them in check .

Only my opinion but the shit can’t hit the SFA quick enough.

Their favourite team ,whatever version , will bite the dust. Again. HH

Auldheid – it doesn’t add up, none of it. Didn’t I hear that McPartland was released yesterday?

Sevco claimed that that Warbs agent resigned his clients on Monday – it didn’t look like that today.

Best moment of today was when Antonio Conte was asked “have you heard of Joey Barton?” He turned to his interpreter just in case he was asked to cook Spotted Dick.

Gerryfaethebrig, they certainly don’t do that. I’m having a “random” troll through hunmedia and its very gratifying to see the pain the klan are going through. I find this very satisfying.

Auldheid, was there not a clause in relation to the magic hat that guaranteed him half a mill if he got them out of the championship? There was then some talk that that bonus was going to be paid to him in stages because they couldn’t pay it in one go.

The hat will have his day in court with the hun shambles. My hope is that his day in court is as a creditor at the end of a liquidation and he gets feck all pence in the pound. Hell mend him. Another hun prick who had his nose in the trough.

Hope to catch up with TET the week after next for a sclaffbaw event/ Mibby one day you’ll caddy for him and we can get some drams / beers / drams:_)

  6. If it’s about getting rid of Ashley by liquidation?

Would they be allowed to use the name Rangers or the badges of the old club?

Surely the law even in hunnish Scotland would insist on them being a completely new entity.

The Walking Deady Bears has a nice ring to it.

I enjoy their pain walking by them every day in life, no entitlement here, just knowing we are definitely the good guys……. When we are all long gone our grandkids will realise how much they cheated……… We live in great Celtic times……

  8. Hearing on the grapevine it’s going to get nasty on Sunday – big demonstration planned outside ipox.

Yes there was talk of bonuses to be paid but that was TRFC comensating MW.

I’m wondering what is in MW’s contract where he would be compensating TRFC, which is the impression given in The Telegraph article that I see has caused BRTH the same bemusement as myself.

I think any compensation forgiven would come from the club pursuing MW’s services.

  12. I understand if a Celtic Manager resigns he is still entitled to his one year salary. Although that may be down to it being a one year rolling Contract. Warbs was on a 3 year deal.

If our club don’t use what they have to call for sweeping reform then there will never be a better opportunity.

    1989 the Joe Miller final

I had a quid on Joe 1st goal at 16/1 that day, on our way back to Mount Florida we had to hide in a shop (3 x 18yr olds) who didn’t go on supporter bus and thought they knew better, anyway like a scene from the Warriors we hid behind a counter of a Pakistani shop keeper while marauding Huns were….maruading, when we got back to Coatbrig we thought we were pure tickets and with my £19 winnings we bought 3 bottles of Old England sherry and about 12 packets of pickled onion crisps and told all our pals we weren’t even scared (truth be told the 3 of us were shiting ourselves while these beams were hunting us down) true story……..

  15. I probably shouldn’t write this as I’m pissed but here we go. I am a lifelong Celtic fan from West Lothian now living in England. I was In the British Army and served in Northern Ireland, I don’t know what to say next as I feel that I am part of the Celtic family but sometimes feel excluded politically. I am not taking sides and emotionally feel that I am conflicted because of my past (which I don’t regret). I love Celtic with a passion and believe that the Celtic family is a force for good and the wider community. I have a vague recollection of my first game at Celtic park against Valencia in the 60’s just before the glory days. I remember the European Cup night as I was away from homer doing my train to be a Mining Technician (Miner) in 1967…waht a night!!. Anyway, enough of my ramblings…Hail hail

Lots of speculation (and hilarity) but only two facts.

    1. A statement was released intimating that a guy told Sevco three other guys wanted to resign and Sevco said OK.

    2. That statement was pulled.

    Hail hail

  17. GERRYFAETHEBRIG

A nastier bunch you couldnae meet than the mob that used to pick off stragglers on Dumbarton Road after big games like that where they had lost.

I fell foul of them myself one night along from the Rosevale as I staggered up the road.

I think of those kiddy on hardmen from time to time and especially on nights like tonight when there nasty wee club is all going all the way down the toilet.

Revenge is a dish best served very very cold:))

Bring on the Nessies, canny wait to see ma team!

  18. A Ceiler Gonof Rust on

Auldheid, I get that. What I was asking, or enquiring was if the loaf ever got his half mill?

Personally, I hope he didn’t. He did not deserve or earn it.

Re the who’s compensating who on this latest act to enter the circus? I’ll let you and BRTH discuss and digest, as I’ve no clue what happens within the three rings of the current hun tragedy, and I use the word tragedy loosely ………………….. :_)

    I’m enjoying this a lot.
