Statement leaves Newco exposed

446

Newco’s statement on their management team is worthy of some consideration:

“At a meeting with the management team’s representative earlier this week the Club were advised that Mr Warburton, Mr Weir and Mr McParland wished to resign their positions and leave the Club on condition that Rangers agreed to waive its rights to substantial compensation.”

A meeting with a representative of the management team, not with the manager, and not a resignation letter.

The club went on: “The Board urgently convened to consider the offer made on behalf of the management team and its ramifications and agreed to accept it and release the trio from the burden of compensation”.

If you agree to the terms of an offer made on behalf of someone, you really, really, need to get the signature of the individuals concerned. If you fail to get an agreement signed, you don’t have an agreement. If you don’t even appear to have a verbal agreement with your members of staff, you get on with your work as though nothing has happened.

They’d better hope Warburton, Weir and McParland get another job quickly, otherwise I predict another raft of court cases to be paid for.  This is a statement which suggests the authors have left themselves exposed.

starry plough, there’s a lot to be said on the merits of this fiasco continuing. Many Supporters of Scottish clubs prefer tat they limp along and keep giving us these weekly laughs.

I want them dead. I want there not to be a club / company playing football at Ibrox.

I want there not to be a rangers, or a pretend version. I want them to disappear forever.

Aberdeen and Hearts need to be our challengers.

Auldheid, if he’s still owed that half mill then there’s another court case right there. It would be good to see squint eastward in court trying to defend his bent deals with an ex manager.

    Smashing, so it iz…………………..:_)

  4. Be careful on your PC;

I had a quick game of Football Manager tonight and PaddyPower cut me to third favourite for the Hun job.

That would be my preferred outcome much as tho’ it’s a laugh a minute with them, as long as they are there, there kultchur is there and as long as their kultchur has a focus like their team they are a danger to all Tims and beyond.

In my 20’s I dreamed of a peaceful life in Scotland it wasn’t to be for me so I made my life somewhere else.

The death of the club at Ibrox might just be the start of something great.

Who knows but I want then gone forever and I would go to my grave knowing I had seen that happen.

Who’d ah thought we would live to be this close.

  7. It’s important to note that according to Benstead at SSN. King ratified the Statement, which in all probability renders it a pile of cow dung.

Even allowing for seriously high admin costs for selling 8000 tickets @ £49, Celtic will be owed north of £350k from these thieves and shysters around the time of the predicted insolvency event.

Someone posted earlier – this shower are mean spirited and crooked enough just to sink beneath the waves with a final GIRUY.

I’d be amazed (and disappointed) if our board didn’t have plans in place to deal with this. Underwritten by the SPFL against prize and TV money?

It’s a different mindset, as a wee bhoy growing up I couldn’t beat sleep (nothing has changed) football gave me a bit of kudos with the older kids, but even in our teens when we ran about “gang handed” I would be disgusted once somebody was on the deck, if somebody kept kicking……..we as a club will have eijits but am not saying Celtic fans are better than any other fans……although we are, we realise idiots are idiots, the Huns hunt in packs I have witnessed it and experienced it …again maybe some have witnessed other things….I base my opinion on life, and those bams hate us……. I pity them, no hate in this life :-)

Brendan makes life so much easier ……:-)

  11. I watched Brendan give an Interview earlier and he talked about young Scottish and Irish kids with talent. Basically he said that when talented kids were young that it was easy to rise to the top but when you entered the ranks of the professionals then talent wasn’t enough, you needed application. he said that he had spoke to a 25yr old professional and said that if he played until he was 35yrs then he had 120 pay-packets to ensure his family future and he used that as part of the motivation to get player improvement. We live in exciting times gentlemen and as a guy who witnessed ’67 and never thought I’d see it’s like again…., I WONDER!!!

Auldheid, the JJ fella is asserting that the hat is still to receive his half mill bonus.

I canny see the uber switched on ex trader walking away without his suitcase being stuffed with crisp new fifty’s.

Take or leave JJ’s stuff but he does have an inside track on the hun fiasco.

WorthingBhoy, welcome. Do you like a dram? Do you waste your time playing golf? Are you a good caddy?

The caddy offers I’ve got so far for Lisbon are pretty pish. WITS and that auld bog Mags Magill.

You could be a contender if ye have two legs and a bottle opener.

  16. On a lighter note, my nephews wife just had a wee girl today, I went through to Dalgetty Bay with a hoops strip not Knowing if it was a boy or a girl last weekend.

It took my daughter all of ten minutes to say….Dad we need to get the pink strip now as my nephews Wife is a Dunfermline fan :)))

Thanks for the welcome. I must fes up and admit I’m a ‘happy clapper’. I believe that Celtic have a board that have Celtic’s best interest at heart and we have one of the best CEO’s in the business. I believe that the PLC is playing the ‘long game’ where ‘most supporters want instant gratification / answers. In my ‘humble opinion ‘The Rangers’ will not be challenging us for the title until well b dying 10 in a row (If ever), and it feels good!!!

First thoughts on Warbo leaving without a formal agreement

    no Compromise Agreement?

He can spill the beans anytime he likes…

If he is smart, he will wait until someone ,with anything approaching sense, realises the risk and offers him ‘hush’ cash.

Otherwise it’s a sequence of 57 dollops of spilled beans coming soon to a newapaper or blog near you..

Either way … a fekin messy business!

I’m afraid I don’t like whisky, I had an unfortunate incident in the Station Hotel in Fauldhouse in 1968. I do like gold but wouldn’t be a good caddy as I am a bit of a back seat driver. I definately have2 legs but not a bottle opener :((
