The Celtic Story in 2088 will write about this time

804

When someone writes the Celtic Story on our 200th anniversary there will be a page about when The Thai Tims came to Glasgow.  It’s a part of the Celtic Story which reaches from 1888 to the present day, and, if we do our job as Celtic fans well, will ensure the character of the club retains a distinct and generous flavour.

The Thai Tims, formally the Good Child Foundation, arrive from Thailand next month and will perform at the Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow, on Thursday 10 May, tickets are £12 and £6 for kids.  If you have enjoyed them on YouTube, and I know you have…. buy a couple of tickets here or call 08444 77 1000 and get along before they’ve sold out.

You can also support the Good Child Foundation by contributing to the fundraising exercise via their Everyclick page.

Sorry I didn’t get back to you yesterday on the question about whether not registering players correctly was cheating.  Busy, busy.  Will get to it as soon as I can – no answering this question early, that’s cheating.

Issue 7 of CQN Magazine is out now! Go to the dedicated magazine site here to read it properly (which you’ll not be able to do below).

Thanks to everyone who has bought a hard copies of the magazine, it looks like the sold out sign will go up again.  Order your copy for delivery by clicking on the link below for news and views from Celtic supporters.

  1. There is a trial finishing as we speak at Glasgow Sheriff Court involving two of the Green Brigade accused of breach of the peace. Star witness for the prosecution – Eddie Smith. Breach of the peace committed by unfurling a banner with an image of Neil Lennon in a Vladimir Ilych Lenin pose, an image of Ibrox burning next to the words “Hun F.C.” and the words “Let’s go to war”.

The prosecutor has binned the allegation that use of the word “Hun” is sectarian.

Smith gave evidence to the effect that the image of Ibrox burning could be seen as a reference to the Bradford fire[?!!]. He also opined that the words “Let’s go to war” could be an incitement to burn Ibrox down. He also accepted that Neil Lennon used these words in an interview a couple of days earlier and that the banner may have made innocent reference to these remarks.

Do we want our money (what David Murray has left us of it) used to prosecute this drivel? I think today is day four.

There won’t be a split of gate receipts.

Celtic could sell a membership card for £500 which enables you to buy a match day ticket for 10 bob….

I agree with a more equitable split of tv revenues, however it shouldn’t be forgotten that it was these same idiots that knocked back the sky tv deal, which has led to their own financial difficulties, they have conveniently forgotten about that.

  6. Re. TinyTim posting about ‘Dynamic Capitalism’…what is THAT?

I’m more concerned about the relentless attack on the poor, disabled & most vulnerable in society by ConDem Capitalism…by 2088,if this kind of ‘Capitalism’ continues it doesn’t bear thinking about.

This kind of ‘Dynamic Capitalism’ is what’s brought Ragers to their knees.

Do you advocate the same kind of profligacy for our financially stable club?

VP-Watched the game in The Parlour, very flat performance but been well covered on here.Let’s move on to Sunday,I can see the argument for winning the title at CP v StJ,but perversely I would love to do it at Poundland on Sunday.Carnage from the huns will take place on Sunday win, lose or draw but Celtic fans would be at more risk if we done it this week.

  13. The slackjawed drooling drones over at Hun Media are slobbering their jabbering jowls about their new Messiah Brian Kennedy- are Stockport still extant- do they ever learn?

Thread after thread about how much they love their club: yet the loyal loyalists have raised less than a million in their “fighting fecking everybody fund”…oh- if loyalty could only be measured.

I started following the Celtic Tax Case fella last night and seen the average crowds tweet quoted.

He followed that up with somehting along the lines of “where were all TGFITW then? We seem to have lost 30,000 of them” suggesting that the Celtic board somehow lowered the official figures to dodge tax! He genuinely appeared to believe he had hit upon something.

Didn’t have the heart to tell him that the figures were pre-McCann and therfore before Celtic Park was redeveloped. Think this guy has hit the bargaining/whataboutery stage in the Kubler-Ross Model.

I think you make a very valid point.

I also have to say that I have been left with the very strong impression that Scotland is indeed very much like China and I mean China of 25 years ago.

What I have witnessed these last four years has completely put me off the idea of an independent Scotland.

I worry that if independence happens that with the calibre of officials that will be running the country that I will soon be comparing Scotland with the Balkans. The brain drain in Scotland has ensured that the country is lead by tiny minded people who have been promoted away above their abilities. It would also seem that they can easily tub thump the rest of the nation by their myopic hatred of all things English. Their is no personality that I have seen that has the necessary gravitas associated with them that you can call them political heavy weights.

Have to be honest and say that I am pleased that I can watch this unravel from afar.

I don’t know what to laugh at most celtictaxpaid or hunsmedia, yon Paul67 is apparently an Irish Republican nutjob and along with 3 other bad bhoys he makes sustained ‘attacks’ (the huns love that word anaw) on the huns, aye brilliant.

As for celtictaxpaid,I mean, seriously? You would think,if its not a Tim on the piss take that whoever is behind it would at least have the common sense to use anything other than the word ‘tax’ in its title,I mean,I can understand them wanting to dig dirt on us but calling it by that name just goes to show how childishly reactionary the mindset is,it HAS to be a Tim!

  21. 15 March 2012

From Daily Record re contributions to Rangers fighting fund:

    ● One wealthy fan has already donated £100,000 to help bail the club out their financial crisis.

    ● A pensioner turned up in tears to donate £20 in memory of her late husband.

    ● A businessman, who does not even support Rangers, wrote a cheque for £10,000 because it would have made his late father proud.

    So that’s a total of £110,020

    21 March 2012

    From Rangers website:

THE total raised by supporters contributing to the Rangers Fans Fighting Fund has crashed through the £150,000 barrier this afternoon as Light Blues followers rally for the club.

So a grand total of at most £39,980 has been raised in a week.

    Excellent work from Rangers supporters.

Remind me again how much D&P charge for administrators fees?

It’s beyond belief – the clamour over Celtic having an EBT declared in their accounts for one season I believe is one of the 5 “smoking guns” – though seconds earlier he basically states “no evidence yet but plenty to work on”.
