Dundee have played 12 games since losing 6-0 at Celtic Park in September, scoring in all but one of those occasions. Only Celtic and Aberdeen have kept them out in 21 games this season. They lost five last time out to Ross County (scoring twice), but scored four against Accies the week before. Season tickets at Dens are excellent value for money. There will be goals when Celtic visit tomorrow.
Kane Hemmings scored five of their six goals against County and Accies. He’s a direct player who makes runs from deep into space but a large portion of his goals come as a consequence of defensive errors. In short, he appears to run at defenders in anticipation of them making a mistake, not a wholly unproductive strategy for strikers playing against Celtic this season.
Ronny Deila will be keen Celtic build on the positives from Tynecastle, although the on-going absence of Leigh Griffiths will be a concern. I reckon we would have seen Carlton Cole at some point against Hearts if it were not for the plethora of injuries which restricted the manager’s options. Hearts had done their homework on Nadir Ciftci, who was well marshalled throughout. He can expect a similar night tomorrow.
Partick Thistle’s role in the title race will come into focus over the next week. They are on an excellent run ahead of tomorrow’s visit to Pittodrie at Saturday’s game at Celtic Park, having won their last four league games. You can win two Premium Seat tickets in the Jock Stein Stand for Saturday’s game, courtesy of Magners, if you answer this question:
Who was the last Partick Thistle manager to win four consecutive top flight games?
Email your answer in the SUBJECT line to celticquicknews@gmail.com before 17:00 tomorrow (30th). My Partick Thistle knowledge is limited, so editors decision if final……
And if you are so minded, having read what you’ve done already for Mary’s Meals in 2015, you can donate a £1 or so towards them here. Many thanks…………

Morning all.
Grey down here at the moment. Dawn is showing that the putting green is now a paddling pool.
Has anyone asked MacKaskill’s successor about the Ibrox song sheet? Certainly won’t be the BBC. They have been conspicuous by their silence on the subject.
Scotland once again afraid to confront it’s racism and bigotry. When we will grow up?
Davie Provan goals per game 1:7 , JF 1:6
EKBHOY
Provan’s assists v those of Forrest?
Provan’s ability to petrify defences when he got the ball v that of Forrest?
Provan’s overall contribution in a Celtic jersey v that of Forrest?
Your shout,Provan or Forrest at age 25?
Btw,I like Forrest and want him to succeed,be the player we know he can be!
MARSPAPA
Thanks,mate.
Aye,it would be worth the 8hr each way trip to see that fella-and the rest of yeez,of course(!)
Don’t discount a surprise entirely, might be some time till I see him again…
BMCUW.
They’re all over in Ireland until next week, other than the game on Saturday I’ll be having a quiet one.
Have a grand new year mate. HH
Morning Celts.
Seems like its going to be rather er difficult, to jail the ipox mob for spewing bigotry.
I mean how can you arrest 50,000 huns in one go:)
Seemingly, it was only a small minority of idiots to blame.
And what a surprise….only we heard them singing it:)
So, its our fault for being too sensitive….After all, its only banter:)
HH
MARSPAPA…

They’re far to young to settle down, so I keep telling my daughter :)
Have a grand new year mate and the same for the shadow. HH

DP every time , it was just a fellow poster was quoting goal return as a stick to beat wee JF …
Still the JF run and cut back at ICT for what was as good a Celtic goal in long time was excellent and seemed to pass with little comment at the time.
Happy new year when it comes
Good morning from a fresh and bright warsaw … was out and about in the old town last night. While the temp was minus 5 it was the most beautiful Christmas lights display I have seen.
Was happy the match was postponed and even happier to see the sheep drop points again.
Fly home on Saturday and due into Glasgow around 11am so by pure coincidence I will make the match at 3

You’ll need a few quiet ones, your Easter outing with Clogher Celt and the rest of Cqn’s fine young rebels (and Voguepunter) will be upon you before you know it.
Well need to organise a wee night in my house, your daughter can Dj unless Roy Croppie comes, they could do a mash up anyhoo bud need to go… Catchye
Gooooood Morning CQN
Cultsbhoy, playing James Forrest through the middle up front and utilising his pace, is a very decent suggestion and worth a try
I believe one of the biggest issues we have as a team is lack of pace.
James pace as a centre forward would potentially create huge opportunities
Hail Hail
Oh Marspapa
Read your wee bit of excitement :-)
Glad you and family are safe and well, and enjoying the festive period
Do as I do, drive yourself :-)
Hail Hail
EKBHOY
Fair point, bud. FWIW,I reckon James would scare the oppo witless-damn this autocorrect!-if he hit the byeline more often.
HNY to you and yours also. Nip down and see JOBO when you run out of booze, say I said it was alright(!)

Quiet one for me too,mate. I know,hard to believe,innit?
Working tomorrow night, and having been breathtested once this week already-dodgy back lights apparently, fine when I checked-it’s err on the side of caution time.
But today is a different story entirely, and I’m already late on parade…
The boomerang is 1,000 years old today – many happy returns
There will be goals

You get my message?

Hail Hail!
James Forrest the 25 year old youngster I personally think he is great when he is in the mood but that isnt often most games for me he is a passenger and he constantly disappears. My opinion would be sell him if we can get a half decent offer for him perhaps pastures new would be good for James and I dont believe he would be missed at Celtic. H.H.
James Forrest

James Forrest.
Maybe it won’t be our decision. He is free to sign a pre contract with anyone. I would say two things.
If he was playing against us would we be saying he is a player we should buy? I say yes.
James Forrest or Nadir Ciftci?
I know there are some attributes that annoy the heck out of supporters, but recently he has reduced the amount of arm-in-the-air protests. And even though he conceded a free kick 30 yards from goal, that shows he is tracking back and willing to attempt a tackle. Something he was previously criticised for not doing.
I say keep him if we can.

—————–
The main difference will be the wages JF will be looking for compared to the likes of Christie, Armstrong etc
I can only speculate but I’d imagine JF and his agent will be looking for pay rise and will know what’s on offer from championship teams down south
Cowiebhoy
Cheers and I usually do., have a good yin mate.
What s your take on the transfer window, for me we could strenghthen every position but realistically
A centre half
A midfield enforcer type( the qurabag player (baldy guy)
A striker who can hold the ball up (Sow) of hearts type
Nill Mcginn or johnny Hayes for a season or two
And playing players in their preferred positions
Btw , a natural left mid/winger we could use Izzy there, naturally lessened comfortable taking guys on and could track back and interchange with Tierney
Anyhoo you and the girls have a happy new year and the next time your at Bellshill nip over for a blether, you can bring Lennybhoy :)
Lessened / leftiesided obviously haha
Morning CQN
I see they’re using the couple of loud mouth bigots excuse for the huns latest misdemeanour’s, which is strange as it contradicts Strathclyde Police’s previous admission to “the practical difficulties when literally thousands of people join in a particular song or chant”…
Anyways just dipping my toe in from the lurk to wish everyone a Hoopy 2016
HH
Pffft!! Leftsided
EKBhoy. The difference for me is James has had the chance over the last few seasons to step up to the plate and for me he hasnt done it.The youngsters we are signing have been good players at the clubs we have signed them from and deserve a chance on the bigger stage. However, every youngster we sign will not become a regular first team players and after some time will be moved on ie GMS . I am not saying James is a bad player but an inconsistent one. H.H.
On SSN at the moment, the biggest load of gibberish for a while.Interview with the “Magic hat”.
Fawning, sycophantic drivel. The idiot interviewing started with”Mark, after all the success you have had up in Scotland”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Reasonable summary , I suspect that Ronny will want to keep JF and the option of getting the preferables kicked out of him watching the ball sail over his head in the English leagues will be balanced up against any short term increase in pay …
…. I’d still keep the wee fella , squad game nowadays
The way I see it with JF is he is over coached, goes to where he is told to go, sits and plays where he is told, his little tricks and turns are few and far between than they where when he started, IMO a player like JF needs no coaching (like a Ronaldo) I’d put him on the park and let him find the weakness and use his strengths to be on top, good players can do that, but as I say it’s only mu opinion, he is a player of that there is no doubt, so let him play his game, it can only better him right now, because what ever he is being told to do isn’t working so far?
Tony D –
I agree. I don’t think any of our players do enough “running at them” i.e. through the middle rather than just down the flanks (to then cross in to the ‘number 9’ we don’t have).
Would much prefer to gate a formation involving the 9 outfield players leaving the 1 maverick to run free.

Niall Mc Ginn is streets ahead of James this season.I like Forrest.but I agree he is inconsistent.I think that problem has been running through the team all season.A nightmare for the manager. One week they play terrific football, the next week, the same guys play poorly. We have all witnessed it.Yes,we have been riddled with injuries, which has been a major factor for me,alongside two new CHs having to try and bed in,whilst playing competitive games.I have had doubts over RDs selections, but hopefully in the New Year we will see things improve.A vital January window looming, and if Warburton does not snap up all the best talent,we could see a very different Celtic.
Happy and prosperous New Year to all on here, especially Paul 67,for doing a wonderful job on here.I will even extend the greetings to Neganon2.,but only until his next post.
In World Soccer magazine there is a list of the votes for World Player of the Year. Okay the top 3 are Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar but down in equal 72nd place is ex Celt Richie Towell, Dundalk and Republic of Ireland. Well done Richie!

Twice I have watched Benteke of Liverpool going through with just the goalie to beat.and twice he has hit the ball straight at the goalkeeper. and to think we have problems with our strikers.we don’t need to look far were football clubs in the English Premier league pay plenty of money for players who in my opinion are just average.so Cifitc go on son bang a couple of goals this Saturday. Shut up these so called celtic supporters who have nothing good to say about you.wasn’t that a couple of weeks ago. when you scored 2goals against St Johnstone.
