Incredible pieces of Celtic History that you could win
As you may already know, we have 2 Celtic tops (1 home and 1 away) signed by the last 11 Club Captains of Celtic Football Club spanning the past 53 years of our unbroken history, from Billy to Broony. These items have been professionally designed and framed, containing all the players’ relevant stats. These truly are two of a kind and are a once in a lifetime opportunity to be the proud owner of. The signing of the tops took us around 18 months to achieve and the journey and story behind this was amazing. We plan to share this story with you over the coming weeks.
We are also delighted to announce that the money raised from the Captains tops (and other special prizes) will not only support Shay but also the wonderful work of the Celtic FC Foundation.
This is our plan
The WalkWithShay Campaign is now fully registered with the Licensing Board to run lotteries (raffles); and we are planning to hold our 1st raffle where the First Prize will be the Away Club Captains top, together with many other great Celtic related prizes. The draw date for this raffle will be 25th May 2017 (no need to remind you of the significance of that date). We need help to sell our raffle tickets for £5 each and spread awareness before then. Yes, that’s right, you could win the Away top for just £5!!!! The Home top will be raffled/auctioned or sold at a later date.
This is where we need your help…
We’re looking for
67 Supporters Clubs / Groups / Associations / Online Communities/Businesses/Establishments or super Individuals to each sell up to 50 (Lisboa) tickets @£5 each
This will form our Green Battalion
and
67 individuals to sell up to 10 (IAR) tickets @ £5 each
This will form our White Battalion
You are of course all welcome to sell more or indeed a smaller quantity of tickets, if you so desire. Regardless of what you sell (or buy) we really appreciate your support.
We would like to have all our sellers registered before Monday 3rd April, which is when we plan to go live with the sale of our raffle tickets. There is a bit of work here to ensure we comply with our license, so please contact us now.

On this the feast day of Dumbarton’s most famous son (pun intended) and on a week were we’ve had confirmation by the courts of what we already knew, they are a newco, here’s a wee useless piece of trivia about ashgill’s ebt who has now been thrown under the bus, might have something tae dae with his family being members of the Plymouth Brethren and not yer average larkhaw up tae yer knees residents. Loyalty though, they couldnae spell it.
He was one of those no bad wee wingers of the time, a bit like Alex Edwards who went fae the Pars tae the Hibbees. Wee Alex was at one time the youngest player to make his debut in a Scottish League game, big Jock giving him the opportunity just 5 days after his 16th birthday; he also played in the aforementioned 6-2 victory over Valencia and featured in both the ’65 and ’68 SC Finals winning in the latter.
After joining the Hibbees he played in the “Dixie” Final as well as the LC Final the following season where they beat us 2-1 and in fact were challenging for the title until wee Alex was suspended for 8 weeks and their aspirations fell away.
A very good wee player who reached his level both at East End Park and Easter Road without winning a full or league caps just a solitary under 23 recognition.
Wee mclean was the same, as good as they were, they were no hendersons or jinkys.
The former was suffering from injuries and waddell who had been mcleans manager at killie where he won a League medal and all his 6 Scottish caps decided he would be the wee bunions replacement.

‘Many thanks for getting back to me, unfortunately on checking this matter further it appears I’m showing my age slightly and the process of Club’s grading the referee’s performance is no longer in place. I do recall this being the case some years back but by all accounts this is no longer the case and the referee is in fact assessed independently.’

I dont want to take the blog up with politics, I voted Yes in the first referendum not for the SNP but as I didn’t want another Tory government, however a number of things worry me about independence, What currency would we use? What would be the GDP of an independent Scotland?Can Scotland afford to maintain/ increase the WelfareBill Health Service and Education costs?What would the taxation rates be to do this? Would Scotland still recognise The Queen as the Queen of an Independent Scotland, if so why?

I voted no. I want a Scottish republic with its own currency, domestic fiscal controls and a realistic budget with increased taxation for those who can afford it.
It’s not real independence if we don’t have that IMHO.

That is not what was offered though,any thoughts on what this currency would be and its value against £ Euro and $, taxation baffles me as it should be simple in that you PAYE but then the exceptions come in for self employed, pensions is another absolute shambles and needs for the future generations to be sorted , its not enough for Governments saying people are living longer so work longer, quality of life is far more important in my eyes.
