WANYAMA, ‘STUPID MONEY’ & CELTIC’S SHARE

FORMER Celtic star Victor Wanyama will only be allowed to leave Southampton for “stupid” money.
The Kenyan international, sold by the Hoops for £12million in July 2014, has been linked with London giants Arsenal and Spurs in this month’s transfer window.
White Hart Lane Head Coach Mauricio Pochettino made a move for the 24- year-old midfielder in the summer, but insists he has no plans to make a second bid before Monday’s transfer deadline.
However, according to club sources, Saints boss Ronald Koeman would only sell Wanyama “if a stupid offer came in”.
The Dutchman recently spoke of a desire to secure the player on a new long-term contract.
Wanyama’s current deal runs until 2017. He has made 25 appearances for the Premier League outfit this season and has been sent off twice – against Bournemouth and Norwich City.
He starred alongside his former Hoops team-mates Fraser Forster and Virgil van Dijk in the team’s 1-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford at the weekend.

Wanyama has been keen to move to a bigger club and was frustrated in the summer when the proposed move to Tottenham fell through.
Celtic’s moneymen will be keeping a close eye on developments as the club have a sell-on clause in Wanyama’s contract. Twenty percent of stupid money will do very nicely!
Last week former Rangers striker Steven Naismith joined Norwich City from Everton for a fee of £8.5m.
There was no sell on clause involved in that deal as Naismith was a free agent in June 2012 when Rangers passed away.
Its successor club, which Naismith called Sevco, had no claim on Naismith or any future transfer fees as it was created after he walked away from Rangers, which had lost all football status, including league membership as a result of its liquidation.
