‘WE SHOULD HAVE BEATEN CELTIC,’ CLAIMS JAGS STAR

PARTICK THISTLE striker Miles Storey branded Celtic “lucky” and believes his side should have been awarded a penalty-kick in Friday’s 1-0 defeat at Firhill.

The on-loan Aberdeen frontman was involved in a stoppage-time clash with Nir Bitton he is adamant should have led to a spot-kick.

Storey, who signed a two-year deal from Aberdeen on the day of the game, said: “I don’t think Celtic were at their best and there was maybe a chance to nick it.

“Obviously, there was Kris Doolan’s header, which was unlucky, and then we could have had the penalty.

“So, we could have easily come out of Friday’s game at 2-1.

“I was running at pace and got clipped, so it’s a penalty all day.

“Like the gaffer said post-match, anywhere else on the pitch you get that, but it’s the 92nd minute and it’s a big call.

“The ref hasn’t made the decision and we can’t really hold it over him. He didn’t think it was a penalty at the time, so there’s not much you can do.

“It is a big call to make against Celtic when they weren’t playing as well as they should have been into their European week.”
