RONNY DEILA will enjoy waving the flag tomorrow as he embarks upon his second season as Celtic manager with a league opener against Ross County at Paradise.
And the Norwegian emphatically spelled out his aims and ambitions for the new Premiership season.
He said: “We want to win games, entertain and win trophies. Now it starts and we are looking forward to it.
“It is a different situation as I didn’t feel a part of it last year. This year I’ll be part of it and that is the big difference.“The players are in good shape now and they want to play games and there may be some changes we want to do, but we want to keep the team we have together as much as possible.

“Consistency is important, but you have to make some changes. However, it is also important to get relationships into the team and play as a team that knows each other. We’re looking forward to this game and it will be a good test for us.”

With a packed pre-season schedule already under their belts and three competitive games in the qualifying rounds of the Champions League, Deila is adamant his team are in good shape.

And he believes by focusing on their own strengths, the players can look forward to another succesfful campaign. He said: “Aberdeen had a good season last year and they will develop even more this season. They have kept their whole team and added players in and they are going to be a real challenge for us.
“They are the team that has the most consistency and quality. There are always some surprises in the league, but I think it is the same challenges we had last year.“We are going to develop all the time and we are going to play attacking football and we want to win trophies and win games.“We are on our way and we can still improve a lot and we are going to work hard every day to do that.

“We want to grow together even more than we did last season and, hopefully, we’ll get a lot of victories and trophies.”
