LUKASZ ZALUSKA, released by Celtic in the summer, has joined Bundesliga new boys Darmstadt 98.

The Polish keeper, who spent six years with the Hoops as understudy to Artur Boruc, Fraser Forster and Craig Gordon, agreed a one year deal with the German minnows.

Zaluska, 33, could make his home debut against ex-European kings Bayern Munich a fortnight on Saturday

The club’s goalkeeper coach Dimo Wache said: “Lukasz Zaluska is a very able professional after a good career in Poland and Scotland.

“We need experience in this position and he will give us that in an important season for us.”

Zaluska, who spent two seasons with Legia Warsaw, joined Dundee United in 2007 before moving to the Hoops two years later in a Bosman deal.

He made only 28 appearances in his six years at Parkhead with his last coming in the goalless draw against St Johnstone in Perth in May.

Ronny Deila didn’t renew his contract and brought in Belgian Logan Bailly, 29, from OH Leuven to challenge Gordon for the No.1 position.
