CELTIC’S £1.2million misfit Jack Hendry is poised for a season-long loan switch within the next week with four Portuguese clubs eyeing up a move.

The defender, who was bought by Brendan Rodgers from Dundee in January 2018, has attracted the attention of top-flight outfits Santa Clara, Tondela and Vitoria Guimaraes while second-tier side Farense are also hoping to do a deal.

Hendry has until a week today – the Portuguese transfer deadline –  to make up his mind, according to a report in the Sunday People.

The versatile Scotland international has failed to settle at the champions and has yet to feature since Neil Lennon returned in February.

The 24-year-old centre-back made only four Premiership appearances in the treble treble season last time out and has played just 26 times in all competitions since his arrival from Tayside.

Hendry, who was in the Hoops Academy as a kid, kicked off his career at Partick Thistle before moving to Wigan. He has had loan spells at Shrewsbury and MK Dons and could be heading out on another temporary transfer.
