DAIZEN MAEDA is on his way from Celtic in a £10million deal to Ipswich Town.
The champions’ jet-heeled Japanese World Cup striker is about to realise his long-held ambition to play in the English top flight.
The offer for 28-year-old Maeda has been accepted in principle, according to a report in Sky Sports.
The deal is allegedly £8million up front with a further £2million in add-ons. The bid is £4million short of the offer from Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg a year ago.

Maeda, who joined the Hoops in January 2022 in a £1million switch from Yokohama F Marinos, has been preparing to leave the champions since the end of the double-winning campaign.
The fans’ favourite netted 33 goals in the previous campaign and collected five Premiership titles, three Scottish Cups and two League Cups in his four-and-a-half years at Parkhead after joining in January 2022 in a £1million switch from Yokama F Marinos.
Martin O’Neill has targeted Egypt World Cup star Haissem Hassan, of Real Oviedo, as a direct replacement.
