Booking £20m from TV rights in China over 10 years is a remarkable deal for the SPFL, it shows a lot of faith from broadcaster, PPLive, who have the responsibility to foster the league in the world’s most populous country. The cash will be beer money to Celtic but represents a substantial income for most of the Premiership.
The deal opens the door for Celtic to follow-through, the only club with the wherewithal to exploit the merchandising, scouting and recruitment opportunities there. We’ve seen strategies developed in Mexico, India and now China, while the European football-tourist market is also now being targeted through online partners.
None of this will put the ball in the Ajax net tomorrow night but it is important nonetheless.
Delighted we’re at Tynecastle in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup. Hearts players found the will to live against Hibs last week but they have little more than effort to their game. Should be a cracking tie, which will not be subject to the performance vagaries of a home tie with Morton.

The Duke of Norfolk is “primus inter pares” in the House of Lords but the 1st Duke was the fella who commanded the English army at the Battle of Flodden in 1513, some 300 years after Magna Carta and Lord Mowbray.
Semantics, Fholks,I’m afraid ……… Oldco went out of business……end of story

There are a lot of Celtic fans myself included, appeased by the thought that Celtic
will not let the new club in blue, into Celtic Park to go berserk, in the manner the old club
did.
The excellent posts on here, in the last few days outlining ‘the future’ have covered all
bases, – I’m on record as declaring, I’d pass and won’t be seeing any new club in our
stadium.
If Celtic FC miss the opportunity to tell the world what they think of new club (if they return)
– they will have failed us.
One of Sevco’s slogans and war cry’s was ‘if we die, we’ll take you with us’ – we’ve never
been away from the top table since.
Apologies – walking the dog spacing

In fairness the club produced a special magazine to commemorate the last ever O** F*** derby a few years ago.

Good draw for us.Delighted the huns are away .Starves them of much needed cash. The amount of home games they had last year and still lost a packet,it does not help them at all.Love it.
Celtic_First @1438,
Another fine post.
Of the thousands of words on the subject, that single, simple truth remains :
” We cannot play Rangers ever again “.
I’ll be honest I find it really difficult to get worked up about people referring to the new company as Rangers rather than Rangers International.

reckon they could both be bad cop when they need to be! a few of the prima donna players could do with being ripped a new one.
For every fiver they spend fixing Ibrox
We’ll HAVE to spend a tenner fixing CP
because they are wrecking barstewards.
That’s what they do.
Ghuys,
Pesky trip down south tomorrow, anyone know a Celtic friendly boozer around Bromsgrove area where the match will be on tomorrow night, I can’t see anything that jumps out on the CelticBars.com site.

Celtic should insist on strong policing when they return. Any damage caused should result in a reduction in their allocation. I would be happy to see the end half empty if need be.
Celtic will describe the Glasgow derby as the first when it does happen as the club can’t afford not to.
You can’t criticise the club for something that hasn’t happened yet.

Aye it’s a long way off, and we’ll see what happens.
Just thinking about a meeting held at the Hotel du vin with Stewart Reagan et al.
I wonder if there was ever a meeting with David Murray Campbell Ogilvie Shug Dallas Jack Irvine Jabba and Ian King. A total conspiracy theory on my part but if you were to get all parties to agree?
Sorry. Just thinking out loud. I know something like that could never happen.

Isn’t the ole Duke of Norfolk THE premier duke of the land and so considered the leading Catholic. He follows only the Queen and the Archbishop of Canterbury in precedence. Mind you, Yorkshire is full of his clans folk, e.g. Carlton Towers is the home of the Fitzallan-Howards.

Mrs TET and I are good, family is as well thanks.
A couple of the dogs have some sort of viris, they won’t eat, one had it for a day, but another two haven’t eaten for 3 days, we have given them antibiotics, so hopefully that will do the trick.

Sorry if been posted before, I see Bobby Lennox has been admitted to hospital where will undergo a triple heart bypass. Best wishes to the buzz bomb.

£20m over 10 years in China equates to £0.0015 per person in China per year(given an estimated pop of 1.36 billion). As David Coleman might have said “Remarkable”.
Indeed very small beer for Celtic…but I do like the sound of the Beijing Bhoys or the Hong Kong Hoops or the Schezuan Celtic Supporters Club.

Anyway Old Mowbray (eyepatch) employed my Irish grandfather to run his Home Farm on Allerton Castle estate.
I have a lovely photo of his son and daughter when schoolchildren serving my grandfather with barley water at harvest time.
