20p per share may be last exit chance on Rangers Mark II

364

There was never any doubt that Honest Dave King would be ordered to make an £11m offer to minority shareholders in Newco Rangers after an enforcement today by the Takeover Appeals Board.

King’s counsel claimed he was “penniless” and unable to make good on the offer, which is a legal requirement on any individual or individuals acting in concert, acquire 30% of a company. I initially considered it was unlikely that many shareholders would accept the 20p price, but the Sinking Ship Scenario is in play. This may be shareholders last chance to recover any investment in Rangers Mark II.

Of course, none of this would have happened if they stuck with the Easdales and Mike Ashley, or Charles Green and Mike Ashley, of anyone else who was able to employ a Nomad or attract tens of millions of pounds investment.  But glib and shameless Geppetto wanted control and he pulled all the right strings.

Have a great weekend and enjoy the game tomorrow.

HUNDERBIRDS ARE GONE on 22ND DECEMBER 2017 11:59 AM

Which “journalist” will be the first to say something along the lines of… “It was obvious from the very beginning that King was unsuitable, and unable, to lead the club out of its financial crisis”.

I listened to Clyde the other night and Keevins was was already saying “we all knew from the very beginning that Pedro Caixinha was never capable of leading Rangers (sic) back to the top of the game in Scotland. Really Shug? Is that what you always said?

I am sure that in the future the reportage of Rangers and Sevco from the period of the initial Administration to the final death of all Ibrox entities (surely not long now), will form the basis of a module on a course in Journalism. The module could be entitled “Comparative case study, Investigative Journalism v Information management”

” Most give them to friends and family. The board see an opportunity to,sell seats twice. ”

How does that work, then? If I am not going to a game, do I have to tell The Board so that they can sell my seat to someone else?

  5. The Tim reaper this isn’t about catching people using concessions. It’s about making more money (ultimately).

Mursheen the reason why we shouldn’t give it a couple of weeks is because the board are softening us up to unleash their scheme. The more noise now the less chance of them succeeding.

JC2 I have posted positive things but it just doesn’t fit with the pantomime cartoon character that folk want. Have a great festive season.

  6. I have said on here before a Rangers supporting friend of mine

probably during the EBT years could tell rangers that he was not using

tkt for a game and they would sell it.

Print a tkt for seat and deactivate season tkt card.

They would get ?? 50% and he would get credit to next years season tkt

  7. Neganon2 @ 1.56

Actually, the letter was solely meant to be about an abuse of using concession tickets. I had an email exchange with Celtic in advance of tomorrow’s game to make sure that my OAP brother (who is visiting from Holland) won’t have any problem in using my OAP sister’s ticket as she is currently housebound.

The original letter was very badly worded and the decision to issue to all supporters was badly judged. If anything, letters should only have been sent to anyone with concession tickets saying that the ticket was only valid for use by anyone in the same ‘category’.

    Back to workin and lurkin…

  8. Jobo I think the stewarding on Wednesday night shows that in fact Celtics agenda is much bigger than that. Celtic may be many things but stupid isn’t one. They plan meticulously for these things. They know what they are doing and have a strategy in mind.

    Hot Smoked

    Hey pal.

Since no one else seems to be talking to you, I will ! :)

Plus, I think the holiday spirit has kicked in …. which means that I dont feel like working today …. but I am too afraid to go to the shopping centre to finish off my shopping … its a scary place this close to christmas!

But remember, my advice is worth what you paid for it!

Skimming back … does anyone actually believe that Neg is happy complaining? I dont. I tend to share most of his complaints about how the Club is being run, and miss watching the games, and can assure you that I would be much happier if things were different. And I am pretty sure that the same applies to Kev J and Negs, and others of that persuasion

I think the recent ticket letter was very poorly worded. However, I think I can see some reasoning behind it …. adults using child tickets and/or concession, as Jobo suggests …. which is not an unreasonable concern for the club to have. And there is an element where the Club does need to have some way to check who is using tickets, in the event that there is a problem. To be fair, there are issues with football fans that we dont see, for example, at baseball or hockey games ….. So, I recognize that the club has some genuine issues with which it is trying to deal …

the problem, of course, is that the club handled things in its usual (to be charibale) ‘ham-fisted’ way.

and there is a (not entirely unfair) concern that this is a continuation of the Club’s seemingly antagonistic attitude towards the fans… combined with the clubs almost pathological refusal to make any public statements about any substantive issues …..that does make people (I know that I am not alone) look behind every action to see if we can figure out the real intentions….

is it possible that clubs see an opportunity to get a cut of a resale market? some sports you can return tickets to the club, and then the club and person share the return …. plus, ticket selling agencies have gotten into the resale market, if only to drive up prices …. so, there are reasons for concern,

but it is all conjecture because there is little or no dialogue between the club and the fans at large …

if the club would stop treating fans like mushrooms, there would be a lot less suspicion towards everything the club does.

I think it as Yvgeny Yevtushenko who said that ‘in the absence of truth, silence is a lie’….

  20. Dangerous Diedia is up in knuckles about the Murty being boss of them Z’s.

  21. lets all do the huddle on

“And there is an element where the Club does need to have some way to check who is using tickets, in the event that there is a problem”

    ——-

    a fake arguement

the club hands out hundreds of tickets every week for home and away games to fat cats, sponsors, players etc that they have no idea who ends up using them. theres no difference between that and someone giving their season ticket to their mate

the point about adults using kids tickets is valid tho. although stewards at the turnstile can spot this because the light shows orange and not green, assuming enough stewards are employed

  22. MWD- I’m sure the point that Murty’s family are Tims from Janefield St won’t be an issue to the vermin hordes….?

That story made BBC Radio 4 news also. My other half returning tonight from 5 days in Bologna with the weans (teenagers) suggested we should watch some Montalbano so she can let go of Italy slowly. I suggested “I Cento Passi”. Too downbeat for Christmas?? :-))

  24. So, if you can’t make a game, you tell the club which allows them to sell a ticket for your seat then you receive a refund on your ticket and everybody is happy.

    Is that how it works?

  25. Of course the Board are Celtic supporters. They have Celtics best interests at heart. But they are less concerned about the next game than the vast majority of support whose only concern is the next game . . . as it should be.

The season ticket letter? Piffle. Has anyone been prevented from entering Celtic Park with a seasons book they didn’t own? I attended the Anderlecht game with a borrowed book ( thanks again VFR ) ; the Board weren’t bothered.

My main concern is the Aberdeen game tomorrow. I was lucky enough to be at the cup final last may against Aberdeen. And as good as the result was my favourite part was getting to sing “This is how it feels to be Celtic” with my 20 year old English cousin Kieran, whom I had only met for the first time two day earlier! When I log on here I get a little of that feeling.

I enjoy reading on here the various posters talking Celtic; lineups, injuries, in form players, tactics, ability. It’s marvelous. Especially for those of us who are no longer local, it’s a fantastic community. I tend to skip past the other trite, it’s better for my health. And Paul can look after himself.

” a FAKE argument’?! who are you? donald trump? :)

your point is valid, but that doens’t mean that the club doesnt have concerns about consequences of transfers of tickets… it may mean that the policy is not full-formed, or may be biased in some fashion … wouldn’t be the first or last time

however, there is also a difference in that, in the event of an incident, it is a lot easier to control/investigate a few hundred seats versus versus 61,000.

  27. mike in toronto on

Vale bhoy … off the top of my head, for british football, I think both Arsenal and Chelsea have a scheme whereby, if a season ticket holder can not make a game, he can sell his ticket through the clubs’ website ….. but only to other season ticket holders/members, I believe ….

ans some other clubs have deals with ticket resellers like stub hub, but I cant think of any in football off the top of my head …

  28. Hello MiT and thanks for making me feel less like Billy No Mates ! I am , of course, only joking, I do have friends….well one….well an imaginary one. Does that count?

    I liked this bit:

” But remember, my advice is worth what you paid for it! ”

I am , however, still none the wiser as to how The Board know that any given supporter will not be in attendance thereby allowing said supporter`s ticket to be resold.

    JJ

PS None of my posts should be taken as to mean that I think the Club are blameless in their handling of this `issue`. Far from it but, as I have said before, I am loathe to criticise our Club when so many do it for us.

Also, when the time comes where there are no more `Wait and see` possibilities, that will be when I decide whether or not to continue contributing to what currently seems like a bent game.
