£2m BAYO SIGNS – MORE TO FOLLOW?

IVORIAN international striker Vakoun Issouf Bayo has become Celtic’s third signing of this month’s transfer window after his Slovakian club accepted the Hoops’ take-it-or-leave-it £2million offer, as CQN reported on Saturday.

The prolific frontman quit DAC Dunajska Streda as he agreed a four-year deal, subject to the formality of a work permit.

Bayo follows the double loan swoop for Oliver Burke, from West Brom, and Timothy Weah, from Paris Saint-Germain, as Brendan Rodgers strengthened his squad for an assault on a treble treble.

The 21-year-old attacker was a priority target for the champions who have been forced to rely on Odsonne Edouard in recent times with Leigh Griffiths on the suidelines due to personal issues.

Mikey Johnston led the line in the 3-0 wins over Motherwell and Dundee, but the teenager made little impact in the 1-0 loss at Ibrox where he toiled for an hour with no back-up.

Bayo will join his new team-mates in Dubai as Rodgers’ squad continue their warm-weather training.

The Irishman may not be finished his signing spree and there are defensive positions that could also be reinforced.

However, three captures in the first eight days of the January window is a good start with the club once more on the brink of history.
