£2M BID REJECTED FOR HOOPS ‘TARGET’

HAMILTON have rejected a £2million bid from West Ham for defender Stephen Hendrie, who has been linked with Celtic.

Hendrie, who has admitted to being a massive Hoops fan, has impressed the London side with his displays over the past two seasons.

However, Accies were not tempted to sell the 20-year-old left-back at Hammers boss Sam Allardyce’s evaluation.

The New Douglas Park side, who have parted with Republic of Ireland midfielder James McCarthy and Scotland’s James McArthur to England’s top flight in recent seasons, are desperate to keep hold of Hendrie.

As well as his boyhood Parkhead heroes, Swansea City and Crystal Palace have also been keeping tabs on the youngster.
