CELTIC defender Adam Matthews will join Sunderland in a £2million deal within the next 48 hours.
Queens Park Rangers were also interested, but Sunderland boss Dick Advocaat continued to target the Welsh international after an earlier bid was rejected.
Since his 2011 Bosman move from Cardiff City, Matthew has played 148 times for the Hoops and established himself as favourite among the supporters.
He won everything in the Scottish game and was also a solid performer in the Champions League.
Matthews made 42 appearances last season and is one of the few players remaining at Parkhead who were part of the team which beat Barcelona 2-1 in Europe’s top flight.
Swedish international Lustig is now nearing match fitness after missing a chunk of last season through injury.
